@Galja Did you mean to post in this forum? The first recipe's ingredients are potatoes, cornmeal, eggs and butter.

And to think she's a vegan chef. Talking about diabetes among tribe members. Purple potatoes native heirlooms, blue cornmeal and she used olive oil and only mentioned avocado oil. She used one egg as a binder for quite a lot. I don't think there is a lacto ovo veggie forum? I thought the video patter was interesting
Perhaps you could start a thread for high carb lacto ovo meal ideas. The more threads the merrier :)

Dear Avocado7fold,

I was just reading the other day on how it might be possible to give yourself a latex allergy from overeating avocados. Lovely treasures from nature that they are.

By the way, I think both the chefs and the moderator were encouraging people not to eat dairy or wheat as these are not native foods and how frying is not either, as native cooking techniques are mostly steaming and burying on coals and suchlike or quick on the fire on a stick stuff

When children, we did learn the tedious method of making acorn flour and now I am wondering whether those are native trees? Looking up...why, yes indeedy!

The wife has a latex allergy and have never eaten avocados !!!!!

Now you freaked me out @Avocado Sevenfold , lol. Thankfully for now no issues. I hope i don't get any. Along with avocado is banana kiwi Apple mango carrot celery potato tomato melon and the list goes on there is no super clean food. Avocado keeps bs flat and great source of potassium. Given o am dairy intolerant I need some kind of substantial fat. Olive oil is like water. Can't do cheese. Between diabetes and food into.erances the menu is limited. U til I break out in hives or my throat closes I will continue on. Lol.

VEGAN PEPPERONI

http://minimalistbaker.com/vegan-pepperoni/

I made this yesterday and it was very easy. Only used half the spices and they are still very spicy. Subbed the sugar for Truvia.

I had put a couple on my Lidl roll "pizza" last night and had a few with my fry up this morning. Nice too as a wee low carb savoury snack straight from the fridge.

FERRERO ROCHER STYLE BALLS

I made these for a family do and will definitely be making them again for Christmas. I calculated the carbs as being 3-4g per ball depending on the chocolate used. Not a massive carb saving, but these ones are vegan and gluten free and the shop bought ones aren't.

To make 30 balls:

Make 2/3 of this truffle recipe as far as part 2 (I added 1 teaspoon of Truvia to the mix)

http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/chocolate-recipes/dairy-free-chocolate-truffles/

When set, bury a whole, blanched hazelnut in 1.5 tsp of truffle mix and roll into a ball. Return to fridge again to set for a bit.

Roll in toasted, chopped hazelnuts. Can be dipped in chocolate or not. Keep in the fridge until ready to eat.

Mini gold muffin cases from Amazon.
