Hiya x. I'm type one. I just want to know if your sugar levels are above 10 does your medication still work? ie... I take prozac, antipsychotics, beta blockers, blood pressure tabs & the list goes on! I'm pretty sure it does but I've googled it & there is no information. Does anyone know????

Hiya @Hlt , I wouldn't have thought blood sugar levels will have any impact on the action of those medications (that's just a best guess though). But... if blood sugar is over 10 that might not be doing anything very helpful to the conditions those medications are designed to treat so it might feel like high blood sugar makes the medication less effective. I might not have explained that very well...sorry

Beta blockers, like Propranolol can cause hyperglycaemia. I am coming off it in the hope it will help my similar scary readings.

Check each drug in Google with the right keywords. There are many drugs that impede diabetic medication,

I don't know but I can't see any reason why they wouldn't work. However, if you feel it's not as effective or you've got concerns, I'd speak to your GP.

I think the OP is asking the opposite in a way - ie does high blood sugar affect the action of the other meds.
