Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

9.7 this morning. I only just got a monitor 2 days ago against my doctors advice. He said it was only useful for people on medication. I was only diagnosed 8 weeks ago and am trying the low carb diet. Shouldn't the numbers be lower in the morning as its a fasting test? last night my numbers were better pre-meal 7.2 and 2 hrs after 9.0.

Thanks
I don't know how they think you can control a condition only being tested twice a year. No wonder it costs the NHS millions. Keep going, you'll get to understand what works for you and what you should avoid. It won't happen overnight, but you will get there.

7.0 today. Haven't tested for a few days - hard keeping control in France, the land of bread and patisserie! Almost ready to come home, after 3 weeks there is only so much Moules I can eat :))
I had the same problem in Florida the last two weeks. The land of supersize portions, my FBGs were up and down all over the place.

5.1 this morning - best since I began testing 2 months ago (still mostly in the 6s). Still trying to figure out what influences my levels: "low carb" doesn't seem to be enough, even though it's taking weight off without my trying. Maybe my last night's supper of "pasta" putenesca made with konjak noodles (virtually carb-free) and tinned tuna with commercial pasta sauce, fresh basil, olives, capers, onion, with spinach and roasted red peppers (olive oil and garlic) on the side? I notice my stats aren't showing: HbA1C was 6.0%/FBS 6.1 mid June (i.e., prediabetic). Next text mid Sept. Got meter for home BG testing.
