Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

11 at 6.30am :hungover:

Nil by mouth since 9.30 pm last night when I had cheese and a few walnuts.

Anyone know the carb content of household spiders? I might need to make more of an effort to sleep with my mouth closed as I can't think what else could be keeping my numbers up! :banghead:

4.6 this morning. I have a definite connection between red wine in the evening and lower readings in the morning.
Like I needed a justification !! :)

7.0 today. Haven't tested for a few days - hard keeping control in France, the land of bread and patisserie! Almost ready to come home, after 3 weeks there is only so much Moules I can eat :))

7.1 this morning, still trying to get under 7. I note that some people note the time a reading is taken. What is the relevance?

No real relevance on the timing but many say you should take your FBG just after waking (some even state while lying in bed!). Then the liver dump some people suffer will not affect your FBG.

I cannot sustain very low carb in the kids 6weeks hols.
Too many temptations and left overs from little tummies.
Great developments from toddlee this summer thou. I'm very happy with my 3yr olds efforts. He might be an educationalist after all. Ha ha ;)

Mine was high on too much protein eaten throughout the day. It all adds up.
Unfortunately protein raises bgs too but just slower. Veg and fat helps out more.
Is there enough none root veg in your diet?

Good Morning! 8.0 at 0630 today AAARGH!!
I washed my hands and retested on my other hand and it was 7.1. Still higher than usual, but I took the readings about 90 minutes later than I have been over the last few weeks, so could be due to liver dump. Also I didn't walk much yesterday as it was hottest day of the year.
Anyway seeing the GP in 50 minutes for review and should see nurse for blood test next week so will find out where I am.

9.7 this morning. I only just got a monitor 2 days ago against my doctors advice. He said it was only useful for people on medication. I was only diagnosed 8 weeks ago and am trying the low carb diet. Shouldn't the numbers be lower in the morning as its a fasting test? last night my numbers were better pre-meal 7.2 and 2 hrs after 9.0.

Thanks

It just shows how wrong the dr was! The morning result is the last to be changed by diabetes and also the last to show improvement on the diet! Carry on and you'll get there in the end.

5.5 last night and 5.3 this morning... i think the cheese worked (like I needed an excuse!) Still... had to go through 6 fingers to get blood out this morning:banghead::dead: ahh well at least i got some in the end:)
