Breakfast Ideas Please Similar To Cereal

After only testing for one day, I found my fasting over night to be 9.2 upon waking. After shredded wheat bite size and half of a small banana, 2 hrs later at 9am, my reading was 16+

I'm not in favour of a savoury breakfast ie protein, eggs etc (I love all food), but just cannot eat anything savoury for breakfast and don't really have the time in the morning to faff about cooking.

So I was wondering what else I can have instead of cereal as I look forward to cereal, not because it's sweet, but because I love breakfast time and feel full after shredded wheat bite size.

Please can you help?
Thank you.

If you must have cereal then I would suggest All Bran or maybe some Cheerios. All Bran can be very filling but it is not sweet in any sense and can be a bit chewy. Cheerios are okay but I can't have any more then a 1/2 cup or I get a spike. I only ever had B&E on weekends before diagnosis. But now it's my go to breakfast. I can start out at a 6 in the morning and two hours after my eggs and bacon it's down to a 5.5 or less. With any cereal it always goes up. No matter how much exercise I get.

I'm sure there's more.
I have porridge almost every morning but can only have it if I have a tablespoon of coconut oil in it. Only if my bloods are in the fives to start with.
My wife has started making mini breakfasts in a bun tray. I think theres a dozen bun holes in it. She uses egg bacon beans sausage and hash browns. There's only about a teaspoon of beens and a very tiny amount of hash brown which forms the casing.
I know you said not savory but these are made the night before and put in the fridge. Really nice cold.
Maybe a bullet proof coffee? That's it the coffee is your breakfast. When I have one I don't think about food for about six hours and more.

I think @IanD used to have a variation on porrige, but I can't seem to locate it now.

At the risk of repeating myself, berries with full fat plain Greek Yogurt with crushed nuts is a lower carb sweetish breakfast. Berries with nuts and double cream would be an even lower carb breakfast :D

I think @Brunneria has posted an alternative to cereal. With cinnamon I believe. I didn't bookmark it, because it looked so delicious, my favourite sort of cereal, and if I made it I would not be able to resist devouring the lot in one go. I am trying to go very low calorie at the moment, but would use the recipe in future when I can be sure I won't pig out.

I have two pieces of 90 per cent chocolat and a mug of unsweetened soya milk.
Quick easy and good for my BG levels. I walk in the morning and my BG is higher if I don't eat.

Yes, I have been posting it all over the forum recently, because it is sooo delicious, and I want everyone to enjoy it as much as I do. :D

But really, there are many, many Low Carb cereal replacements.

Just type 'Low carb cereal' into google, and the recipes start popping up.
I saw a nice looking one on the Dietdoctor website a few days ago.
The one I use is Low Carb Cinnamon Crunch. A google search will find it easily, and it is worth checking out the rest of the site for ideas.
There are also a lot of recipes for breakfast bars and protein bars, which look interesting.

But the variations are endless, so probably best to do your own searches @Quirkybee and choose a recipe that appeals to you, then tweak it as much as you like.

- that is good practice for any low carb recipe. You can stumble across some real gems that way.
