Vegetarians: What have you eaten today?

Not much happening here this week foodwise, except on Monday night I went to a restaurant chain and managed to find something to eat! :woot:

Starter: Zizzi spicy nuts
A roasted mix of cashews, almonds & chickpeas.

Main: Green goddess salad with broccoli
Tenderstem broccoli, cannellini beans, courgette ribbons, super green pesto, balsamic tomatoes, watercress & toasted seeds. (Massive salad, full of flavours)

Dessert: 3 Scoops of gelato
Coconut & Chocolate Swirl, Lemon Sorbet, Strawberry Sorbet (Ok, not low carb at all, but how often do you find a vegan dessert in a regular restaurant? My bg went up to 7.2 and was 6.5 the next morning. Win)

I would recommend Zizzi. They have menus for vegan, vegetarian and gluten free diners, plus cheesy carbs for fussy teenagers. Something for everyone!

Sounds lovely :)

Usual .. I know :)

Tonight
Veggie roast , loved the cauliflower cheese and leeks in lovely sauce ..

I have been looking in the rainbow shop .. at no added sugar mincemeat ..
Well I might as well have odd one or two .. thoughts welcome :)

Hey @Kat100 What is the rainbow shop? Poshtotty posted a pastry recipe this morning if you need one for pies http://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/low-carb-recipes.4871/page-59

My thought is that the best bit of a mince pie is the sticky fruitiness which will sadly always be high carb. For a special treat I would have a medjool date instead of a pie, but that's just me. I have seen recipes on the internet where people stuff them with cream cheese and a pecan. Maybe a sprinkling of orange zest would be nice on it too.

@Kat100 I'm also intrigued by the idea of a rainbow shop!

I had an M&S mini mince pie a few days ago, tiny but tasty - not too bad for me at 11g carbs, but I don't/can't do LCHF.

Today:

B: Croissant, pain au chocolat and a cappuccino.

L: Cheese & mushroom omelette with salad.

D: Nut roast, roast potatoes, kale & cauliflower. Coffee & walnut cake (shop bought.)

B: Porridge with blueberries

L: Dark chocolate & raspberry torte with a cappuccino: not a balanced, healthy meal, but good for my un-diet and all I had time for in between medical appointments today - life's hard!

D: Leftover nut roast with mash, cavolo nero & broccoli

We've just put our tree up; my poor dog just got tinselled in the cross-fire (not by me): she doesn't look very happy, but she can't understand what's going on with the tree in the house either :-)

LOL @Kat100 That's so funny. The guy I work with has a tree scented stick in his house this year because his cat always demolishes his tree! :blackeye::cat:
