Hi. I know this is probably a very dumb question, but does anyone do the slimming world diet?
I am asking as intolerant to the ideal foods....fish, meat, nuts, cheese....could go on but to many to mention and this also includes medication.
Thanks in advance

I did it for a while and initially had some success, then stopped loosing. Instead of helping the leader then accused me of cheating (which I wasn't) which could be the only reason (according to her) that I had stopped loosing. So I left.
What is it you want to know and I will try to help from my limited experience.

Not sure what I want to know to be honest.
Just struggling a bit as not on meds and as mentioned can't tolerate many foods that we should eat (I actually vomit) even though I force myself to eat them. I did mention to my nurse and the reply was eat what you like but small portions, but end up being hungry. I do have various other illnesses so they don't help I know.
I am waffling, sorry, but at moment seem to just live on sugar free jelly and porridge lol

Fish, meat and nuts are my worst enemy....I like them but my body does not lol

Have you considered ditching slimming world and trying the low carb high fat diet advocated on here? I know it sounds unlikely that you will loose weight on it, I didn't believe it either, but I'm not following it exactly; all I've done is cut all carbohydrates by half or sometimes 2\3, gone back onto butter, cream and changed the oil I use, and I have to say I'm loosing on average 2 lbs a week. They advise eating more protein to keep you fuller for longer.
We need to eat less carbs anyway as they turn to sugar so to me it's a win win situation. My blood sugars are stable too, between 5-7 each time I take them. You can eat pretty much what you like so I would suggest giving it a go. If you don't like the recipes suggested don't worry about it I'm not, make your own up just keep to the principals of the diet.
It will also save you money each week not paying for slimming world. I get weighed once a fortnight with the nurse at the Gp practice that and knowing I have to avoid sugars and carbs because of the diabetes keeps me on track. Ask at your surgery to see if they will do the same or similar.
Have a think, look at the information on this website re LCHF diet, then miss a couple of weeks at slimming world and give the low carb ago, if its not for you well you haven't lost any thing. But it could be the answer to not being able to eat anything.
If you have any more questions just ask, I'm more than happy to help where I can.

Are you vegetarian? It may be useful asking about the LCHF diet on the vegetarian forum as they be able to help with other suggestions to.

If anyone read my food diary they would think I was Vegan lol

Erm.....my previous before diabetic was pasta, lettuce, cucumber, spring onion, simple soups, occasional omelette (rare) no spices or rice, beans cornflakes.snacks were crisp and choc and oranges but not any longer although if I am honest still have to have an orange daily.
Bet you wished you never asked.

That must be really difficult for you. I dont know how old you are, or anything, but it seems you need some protein in your diet, and healthy fats.Do you have other food issues that prevent you from eating other foods? Have some hugs.
