hey everyone been searching everywhere carnt find my insulin pens or insulin :( i think i may have lost them on the road im from england bte is it best to ring my GP or diabetes team at hospital tommrrow to get a replacement novo pens and insulin ?.

Ring your diabetes clinic or better still call go to the clinic. If you know your GP may hold spares then drop in there they whatever you should be able to get a prescription.

It also sounds like you were on your last vial of insulin, you should never leave it to the last minute before ordering more ie Never ever leave it so that you may run out.

You must make sure that you have spare pens should the one your using fails so ask for spares.

Regards

Don't you have any insulin in the fridge at home? If you were using your very last vial and that was on the road with you I would hope that means that you have already put in a request to have a repeat prescription for insulin filled. If so, ring the chemist and see if they are ready to fill it. If no, ask them if any other chemists locally are able to fill it.

If you haven't already made a request for a repeat prescription to be filled, do that now. Go to the chemist and see if they will issue you with an emergency supply of insulin while waiting for the prescription to be signed. They might not issue an emergency while your GP is open, so you would have to go to the GP to get the prescription signed, then take it back to whichever chemist in the area has insulin available (it'll be around somewhere, just ring the chemists to check and decide which one to go to).

go to your diabetes clinic, they WILL have a stock of pens and WILL give you a replacement.

Hi. I always have 2-3 months of pen cartridges and I have a spare new pen I bought off eBay. My surgery has spare pens and probably some insulin but my Lloyds would 'loan' me insulin if needed urgently.

thanks goape mate i listened to what you said and went to the diabetic.clinic they gave me a replacment pen but only one nurse was abit funny she said we only have 5 in stock i can only give you on novo 5 pen and you have to get you other pen from doctor. how wierd lol
