Up with toddler this good afternoon/evening/pre-dawn ha ha He had an early night and this is what I get a 4am wake up call. He only sleeps for 6hrs max. That's if we're lucky. Normally I've took painkillers and mr ickihun does night duty. My turn today.
Practice nurse is so lovely at my gps. She said tramadol made her nuts after her knee replacement. I can honestly say they are working for me. Maybe she had other drugs for knee replacement on top of tramadol?
I can still feel pain on 2 tablets so I'm not monged out on them. Any funny feelings and I'll reduce to 1 tablet as stopping quickly can cause a problem too.
Maybe they are taking a while to settle in?

Thanks @Liam1955 - it was a very good year!!!

I certainly drive - it's pretty impossible not to in suburban Australia - at least my part - and out in the rurals - absolutely impossible. I'd forgotten how good and convenient public transport was in Britain till I spent much of 2015 there without a car.

Fortunately I seem to be settling into the insulin routine OK - generally lows are around 5, very occasionally below that - but hey if the NICE guidelines (presume they're a British thing) are suggesting 4 pre meals is something to aim at - I'm not overly worried at this point

@SueNSW - Hi Sue :). Any particular diet you follow?
I am up because my body woke me in advance to let me know to eat something SOON or I would go Hypo very quickly. My fasting was at 4.0 and I start to go Hypo around 3.8. Feel better now I have eaten.
Having a Hypo makes me feel Blah! for the rest of the day and suffer with bad headaches.
Have you had many Hypo's since being on Insulin ?
To date I have had 4 Hypo's since starting on Insulin 3 years ago.

Hi again @Liam1955 - Only been on insulin since end of November - after a month of steadily increasing Metformin made no difference - having been diagnosed at the beginning of November following routine blood tests for double knee replacement in April.
So far lowest ever has been 3.7 - with no "bad" feelings at all.
As for diet - cut out masses of carbs, trying to increase protein at suggestion of dietician - who interestingly isn't a fan of the HF component of LCHF!!
 
It's been such a nice day today Ron and I decided to go and do some retail shopping . He's still in a lot of pain so have been using the wheelchair. Happy Valentine's Day all. Xxx

just had letter come from doctors regarding my recent tests results they want me to make appointment to discuss results it seems i have now got COPD

Any magazines for your boating available on-line or available at local library to rent? You will be an expert if you studied them in detail? Do you like reading? What's your fav book?

not done much reading lately vicky i used to read alot of stephen king but with my memory problems i forget what i have and havent read i can't even remember what i've watched on tv yesterday . i watched my favourite program on monday morning by monday evening i'd forgot what happened

Oh no! Do you remember it on watching it over or is it a blank too? Anyway, I hope you can find enjoyment in new hobbies but always remember, we're here! :)
