Not everyone loses weight on a low carb diet (I don't). So it won't necessarily happen. My understanding is that it is more to do with insulin production and insulin resistance while low carbing, than it is to do with calories in, calories out.
So there are lots of things people can do to control weight loss while LCing, including increasing protein and fats, tweaking the amount of carb they are eating, adding in extra low carb snacks, and so on.
