Getting test results from dr's surgery

Wow interesting reading for me, I'm given a blood test every three months by a nurse visiting me at home and a copy of the results the following day. Every three months a visit to the doctor for a full medical, no appointment just a sit and wait situation. I once managed to lose my glucose monitoring thing and visited the pharmacy in a panic, no problem they just gave me another at no charge. As for the strips all done on prescription which I don't pay for as diabetes is classed as a long term illness. I'm a very lucky person and happy that France seems to have the right idea.

Well I asked the question and got a somewhat blunt reply i.e. No! So I asked 'when would they be going on line because I thought all practices had to allow patients to access their records on line from April 2016' response - "don't know anyway it's up to individual practices when they go on line and what access they allow but you can ring up and get your results anyway!" So no access for me at the moment!!
Yeah, that's a similar response to the one I got. I also got a quite stroppy response while actually trying to get those results. And a stroppy response when I checked if I'd been registered as diabetic because I still hadn't got my referral for diabetic eye checks. 'Of course you are registered, heres, the number to ring'. I wasn't but am now. The Dr I'm now seeing is great, the support staff at our surgery are challenging.

Apparently our GP Practice, which is currently in special measures, is going to be 'taken over' soon so I'll wait and see if the situation improves.

Absolutely disgusting... I would be writing to the CQC people and Simon Stevens and MP for your area... Thatis pure incompetency...

How many GPs are at your Practice?

The govt wants to get fewer practices but bigger ones.. I think tjis would actually be good for you!!

We have 3 permanent GPs and 4 locums at the moment - there were 7 permanent ones but most of them left hence the reliance on locums! It went down hill when one of the senior partners, who was my GP and v good, was kicked by a horse and suffered brain damage so could not work anymore. He introduced the online appointment system and I think if he was still there he'd have pushed to have the tests online etc. Instead they stopped us even making appointments on line so we get nothing now - the only thing I can do electronically is order the prescription via e-mail. Forward thinking or what!!! I'll see what happens when the new management take over and decide whether to move or not.
