Help understanding test results

Hi all

Over the last couple of weeks I have developed 2 Paronychias around 2 different fingers (one came from a trauma, one didn't). I went to the doctor's yesterday and was given antibiotics and he then told me if it happens again I will need to be tested for Diabetes, which to be honest scared me a little bit.

Although I do consume a lot of sugars, I'm generally a very healthy person - I exercise, I'm very rarely sick and don't think I display any of the major symptons of Diabetes.

In a bit of a state I bought an Accu Check Nano machine and I've tested my bloods - the first time was about 2 1/4 hours after eating and the result was 5.3 mmo/l - I've just tested this morning as soon as I have woken and the results was 4.9 mmo/l - can anyone tell me if this is OK or should I go and see the Dr?

For some reason they don't seem to supply a chart/advice on where it should be, I've looked online and all of the information is a bit confusing

Thanks!

Hi @Ecopac,

Welcome to the forum.

These numbers are absolutely in the normal range. Nothing to worry about.

@Ecopac Those test results are normal :)

Nobody here is a doctor so do,wait for proper tests, but the two results you've given above are normal non-diabetic results.

Doctors commonly test to,rule out diabetes. Try not to worry.
