2016/17 Football Season

Maidstone tomorrow, last league game already, not going too busy!
We are resting a lot of first team players!

Gearing up for playoffs, next Wednesday!

Good luck to all our teams!

Yeah I should think we will be resting a lot of our first team players tomorrow. There is nothing to play for now in the last 2 games. We need the best players to be sharp for the play off matches.

Good luck to all those playing tomorrow I hope you all win :)

Oh well lost 2-0 to Birmingham. Not to worry cos as things stand it will be Sheff Weds who we play in play offs. But that could all alter next Sunday. Still our manager has done us proud and so have the lads. :)

They think its all over, It is now for Leeds they could only manage a draw as did Fulham but Fulham are 13 goals ahead so I reckon that's it job over :)

Well done Carlisle and well done Tranmere :)

Oh dear Town are being slated already. It seems Notts Forest and Blackburn are complaining cos Wagner made 10 changes to our team. They think we should have points taken off. Brummies won fair and square and are safe. Let em gripe I say what do we care :D:D:D

Where do I start?
It is a squad game and if you have critical matches coming up, you must try and protect your players, however, you cannot and should not do what we did yesterday, if your opposition is fighting against relegation. There used to be a ruling, but I don't know if it spies. But it is a squad game!
Back to Rovers!
Nine youngsters made there debut, and the average age was just over 19, with the youngest being 16, two first year youth players started in defence!
The team we put out and the bench showed maturity beyond their years!
From the goalkeeper to the striker, who scored the winner on his debut, were magnificent. In the second half the lads ran the game and played Maidstone, who are mid table, how to play football.
The support of just under 500, cheered and sang on the kids and celebrated wildly when we scored and at the final whistle, it was one of the best away displays that I can remember.
The gaffer was so impressed with the lads, in his interview, he just said, I'm so, so proud! What a performance!
I am lost for more words!
Except that after the game, the Maidstone manager, staff, directors, players and supporters congratulated the lads on the victory! In true sportsman style.
Oh yeah, more than half of the team that played are local lads, three from within a mile of the ground!

Wow, what a great away day!

We've been playing with rotation all season and its paid dividends we have pulled off what was only a dream last season and seasons before. We should have really been up there with Brighton but alas we threw some stupid games away and well we have to make do with the play offs. Be nice if we could nail it but still nice to have finish where we have. Has to be a massive boost to the players and David Wagner and the rest of the club. Nobody can ask any more. We have to wait now and see who we get for first legs. UTT.

Glad you enjoyed your away day :)

We're away on Saturday and we don't travel well long distance

Exeter City will be favourites in the encounter

A point might not be enough to see us in the play offs it's got to be win or bust

I wish you all the best with that one mate :) Our last game is at home to Cardiff on Sunday and at least we can't get slated for that one as Cardiff are well safe so nobody's survival is at stake like last Saturday was or so the whingers at Blackburn and Notts Forest keep telling us :D:D:D
