Hello all, I'm a T2 insulin user, and last night applied my first Freestyle Libre sensor. Since application I've had an uncomfortable feeling in my arm and hand, which, with a bit of Googling, I realise follows the route of the ulnar nerve. I guess I've placed the sensor very close to the nerve on the upper arm :facepalm: It's not painful, just aching and with slight pins and needles in my hand...has anyone experienced this? I'm reluctant to remove and replace the sensor because of the cost. I bought the starter kit so only have one more sensor & am unlikely to be able to afford any more sensors for some time. My worry is, am I damaging the nerve?? Any advice much appreciated.
 
Interesting comment! I must admit I had pins and needles in my hand too, and having read this, I can correlate that with when I changed sensor. Having just googled ulnar nerve - yep that's where my sensor is !
I'm now one week into that sensor.
For what is worth, the pins and needles wore off after a couple of days and I'm not intending to change mine. I will not put the next one in the same line !
 
Ah, that's reassuring CherryAA, thank you. I'll see how it goes. I only activated the sensor a few hours ago and I'm already thinking it's the best thing since sliced bread:happy:
 
I am thinking about getting a Freestyle Libre to use once in a while. The only thing holding me back is th ethought of having the needle thing in my arm continuously, Does it hurt when you put it on and can you feel it when it is there?

The filament is tiny and thin. It has never hurt me putting it on and I forget it is there. I can't feel it. When you apply it, the applicator makes quite a loud noise that can make you jump.
 
@Delebits sometimes I find a new sensor makes its presence felt for a good couple of days after application, but I have never had to remove one because of any unbearable discomfort. Actually I've only ever had to remove one before its designated expiry time, and that wasn't because it hurt!

I love that you're finding it so great to use! Hope the discomfort calms down soon.
