I'm asking this with confidence what is the cause of this? I have never really understood it and the doctors can't give me an answer. It's not a regular occurrence but when it happens it's 3 to 4 nights in a row.

It could be due to a hypo. Next time you get it, test your blood sugar.

It can happen when my sugars are 15.4 to 5.6 it doesn't really matter what my levels are I just go through an episode of it. It gets worse night after night then stops? A few days lasted it strikes back.

Mine disappeared ... and only thru water and salt intake at night prior. Means an extra visit but so what :)

Very light clothing at night will (might) help and let your body temp be the regulator

If you can get a libre and see if you can useon a night when this happens. Cold sweats are a hypo symptom. It is possible to sleep through a hypo and have your liver release glycogen to correct resulting in a high reading.

Have you had your thyroid tested just to rule that out?

Sometimes night sweats can be caused by thyroid problems.

Both under active and over active thyroid function can be associated with night sweats. That's why it's been suggested (at post #7) you get your thyroid checked to rule this out as a possible cause of your night sweats.

@ConnorLF10 - Sweats, whther hot or cold are often caused by hormone imbalances, as well as several other reasons. I'd think it could be useful for your Doc to do a few blood tests.
