The SCREAM thread

Cant say why but I'm screaming inside as to the situation my daughter has got into with her boyfriend. Let's say its serious and she knows how to pick them. Lets see how it pans out
Oh, dear... my youngest made some bad choices too but has turned her life around..... I was there when she needed me but she had to work it through herself....
Try not to worry (but we do, don't we) hope things resolve themselves.... it's hard being a Mum sometimes... hugs

Oh I'll always be there - I just cant help feeling she is reeling from one crisis to another. She has 2 children to think about but still manages to get into a mess. She's nearly 30 so she should be learning now

has he seen a neurologist or a sleep pulmoologist?
or both?
Yes he has seen a neurologist but that was for muscle weakness and to try and find out what was causing it . He had an MRI scan and that's when the spasms started . He's on medication for it . He takes it in the evening and we all have a peaceful night sleep . There are times however when he's had a nap in the day and when I check on him he can be having slight spasms . All the doctors do is put him on one pill after another . Last year he was on over 20 pills a day. We now have that down to half that amount . We are waiting for an appointment to a memory clinic as he is having problems with short term memory , that's the main reason he's not posting on forums so you have to put up with me . His diabetes is taking a back seat and he's had to change what he eats . We're now doing the Mediterranean diet . He's also taking medication for unstable angina . He got fed up of neurologist at local hospital so is now seeing one at Queens in Nottingham.

She'll get there in the end, Wolfie, as will her children, and as did you. But she - and they - have to make their own way. I sometimes think the hardest thing in the world is watching our kids make their own mistakes, and just standing by ready to pick up the pieces. But they have to make those mistakes in order to grow, and our job now is to love and support them, and trust that they will learn the lessons and everything will work out as it should in the end. Sending you big hugs xx

Go out at night with a torch and either snip them in half with a pair of scissors or pour salt on any you find slithering about

@Cumberland
I'm wheelchair bound but once had good results with snipping one of the little gits then waiting, they are canibalistic and gather around the dead one very quickly so it is easy enough to sit in my chair and wait for them to come to me. A bucket of salty water sees the rest off and saves putting salt onto the lawn.

Good tip.....mind you, I don't think I could do the cutting bit...

Sorry to hear about your Salvia succumbing to the slithery gits

I have a sort of litter picker that I use for picking them up. I was tired of tracking slug juice into the house on my wheels Yeurghgh!

My neighbor had some landscaping done and created a giant patio.

I am getting flooded now
Check with the council, he may have needed planning permission for the patio or he may need to install a soak-away. Some areas do because of flooding issues.

aaarrrggghhhhh

Complicated forms and having to attach 15 pages of additional information because they cant understand you the first time. So either I've not explained it correctly, or they are not clever enough to read words put together in sentences.

That's better
Probably the latter

Grrrrrr! I had a missed call from the gp surgery monday morning so I rang up. First the woman on reception said there was no record of a call having been made then she said she'd found the logged call and I had to go in and get a form for a blood test. Ok says I, what blood test? She said the form didn't say then said oh it's for the HbA1c. So I asked to make an appointment with the dn and she said 'No, it doesn't work like that, you have to come in and collect the form and then make an appt at the local hospital or at a larger surgery".
I was confused and said my bloods had been being taken by dn but the receptionist said that that was what was written on the form and I had no option but to collect it in person. So, off I trundles today to get the sodding form and I put it in my bag without reading it. While I was there I thought I'd ask about having my test results printed out and was told that because I am online with the surgery they couldn't print out my results! This I know to be wrong but I came home and had a cuppa and read the form. On it says to arrange an appt with the dn at my surgery! I could have made an appt there and then or on the phone yesterday, what is wrong with these people? If there is a wrong way to do owt they'll find it.

Oh and it doesn't stop there. Logged into the surgery's online service and it has all changed. I cannot make an appt with the dn, there just isn't an option. After all that! It's at times like this I wish I had a dog.

Yep, much easier to get a vet's appointment and any X-ray's done the same or next day....surgery within a mere few weeks...

Just happy being me

Has a bit of a stressful day yesterday - my daughter took step-son to Alton Towers so I had Ava-May. My youngest daughter and her bf came to help so I could cook food etc. I'd spent the morning cleaning, then walked to fetch the baby and then had the day looking after a nearly 5 month old. Even took her to Tesco to give her something different to look at. And now here it comes - I'm too old for long periods of babysitting and the problem is I have it again today. I was in bed at 10, didnt have any tea, hardly ate my lunch and didnt even have a glass of wine.

I guess as it's a one off I have to hold back on how I think my daughter has her priorities wrong especially going back again today. Her poor children will forget who there mother is
