I've no close family. My daughter lives in Canada, about 5,000 miles away!
My type 1 is badly controlled atm it was fine while working because it was less stressful. I've been insulin dependent after having a bad case of pancreatitis about 10 years ago
Am unfit as well as having toilet issues (only since being made redundant)

If your neighbour is kind enough to let you use their PC to post on the forum, I'm sure they wouldn't mind letting you use it to place a shopping list from time to time. It's quite quick to do once you are familiar with it, and the shopping will be delivered right into your kitchen. As another poster has said, if you can be flexible with the time of your delivery, most providers will only charge one or two pounds for the service.

I don't like to ask him as we don't really get on. I had to beg to use it this time. (& previous times) When he is home it's only bank holiday weekends & his annual leave.
I'm not very computer literate & it would mean getting an internet conection set up which would cost a bomb in this area.

Most modern phones allow you to access the internet these days. If you have a mobile that doesn't I'd look at upgrading it. The cost for the line rental shouldn't change much from what your paying at the moment for an existing mobile or home phone. The wife pays around £10 a month. If you don't have either one already then you probably should get one.

I'd start by getting help with your toilet issues first @Simon Ban. If you can't be more than 30 seconds away from a toilet then you'll find the majority of daily tasks, duties and chores a chronic struggle.
Transport to doctor's appointments can be arranged for you by the NHS if you have a disability/reason for being unable to get there yourself.

I live in a rural village in wales. The pharmacy in the nearest town delivers meds. A food bank can also deliver food if you explain your problem. And some supermarkets have really low delivery slots outside the popular times. Best wishes. I help out in a foodbank and they will be supportive and understanding, we so so many people, in all sorts of situations.

@Simon Ban - Ally's information on ASDA was excellent. I hadn't realised about the Tuesday afternoon thing, so I'll be remembering that!
On the internet suggestion, I'm fortunate to be pretty "tooled up here", but it needn't cost a fortune up-front, or on-going to get yourself internet access and a device to do that for you.
I wanted to look into a small tablet device (about 7" screen as opposed to my current, standard size device), but because I didn't know if I'd like it, I decided to take a punt on something from eBay. Cutting to the chase, I bought a Samsung tablet, which cost me about £50. I can access the internet from my home broadband (which I concede you don't have), or using the internet signal from my phone, if I'm out and about.
I have BT Mobile at the moment, I can connect you tablets to to access the internet. My mobile contract costs me £5 a month. If you already have a smart phone, that might work for you, so you could be online for an upfront cost of well under £100. eBay also sells second hand phones, very cheaply.
I do agree with those who suggest getting your bathroom issues addressed, as a priority. Do you have a diagnosis for this? Getting that under control would open your horizons, and allow you to perhaps do a bit of relaxed walking to improve your general fitness. A bit of a stroll and some fresh air is also known to lift the spirits.

Your surgery should also have contacts of volunteer drivers who do shopping, hospital and doctors lifts for people in your situation.
You should be able to get a replacement for minimum cost. As you say you will need to get out of the house first though. I'd call 111 for medical advice if you can't leave due to health issues.

What has changed since you were made redundant ? Losing your job can be a very tough time mentally however it is important to keep your type 1 in shape for so many reasons including general health and vision. It really is down to you to take ownership and ensure you are keeping it in check. I appreciate you may not pick up any more messages until you next log in now, but help is there for you if you are prepared to access it. I would suggest speaking to your GP about your toilet issue because this may be something they can help with. However getting some exercise will help your general well being too, so get out into the fresh air. There has been a lot of supportive messages for you tonight, so I hope there's some useful advice to help you get back on track.
