What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Hoping to be back in the 5’s by the end of this week ......

Antibiotics have finally kicked in and are bringing the reaction to the pneumonia jab under control - swelling going down and my arm isn’t red hot! Still apparently this vaccine is a one off.

So back into the pool tomorrow morning - although getting up in the dark at 5:55am isn’t going to be fun :arghh::arghh:

If you've been off kilter and you obviously have then blood sugars are usually one of the first things to go north by northwest. I am glad that your arm is now behaving itself. I am however not so glad as I am having my own flu jab on Tuesday afternoon

Maybe my GP thought I am 84 not 48 :) I was told if you are diabetic you can have the pneumonia jab. 5 days later though I am still suffering ....

A FBG of 6.5 today :)

I was invited for a jab as I have been for a few years. I've never taken the offer up. Wishing you better soon

6.0 at 4:30 am.

We had some rain during the night, which will have laid the dust for a while.

Our grandsons fly back to West Australia today after their holiday here in Bundaberg, it's gunna be quite around the place now. We will catch up again at xmas when we go across to WA for the holiday, will get to see our granddaughters as well.

Andrew, you're a legend! x

My fasting BG was 7.8. I'm very happy with that. I'm newly diagnosed and was in the hospital with very high numbers about two weeks ago. I'm still working on getting things down to normal. I have a good team in place now. I saw our diabetic nurse last week, and she was happy with my numbers I recorded for her. This week I'll see my doctor, and the medical groups dietian Thursday to go over things. I'm feeling way better about things now, and am feeling healthier and happier than I been in a long time.
Glad to hear you're feeling better. You're in the right place here - stick with us and you'll be amazed how fast those numbers will drop. And you've just made a whole bunch of new friends! :)

Nothing like the support of friends to help you muddle through.

Buon giorno a tutti voi da tutti voi i girasoli diabetici a basso tenore di zucchero. This morning in a scene akin to the worst excesses of none other than Stephen King's imagination I awoke to find a mole with a mallet perched on the end of my bed. No, no no I haven't been eating cheese or even LSD. It really was there. Mr Mole hit me about the head 4 times and my morning blood sugars are at 4.0mmols. I am now going dog walking and then to work where I will nurse the lumps in my skull. May you all have a very good day and an excellent week :)

Good morning everyone

Woke up at 5:00 AM with glucose at 5,0 mmol. Went on my usual 5km morning walk, tested glucose again, you guessed it 5,0mmol/l again! The fifth (of April though not of May) also happens to be my birthday.

Decided to take one day off work. I realize that although my mind knows that last week's tests are now successfully over, my body has not yet caught up and I am still showing signs of stress: not sleeping very well and I have a mouth full of ulcers, a tell tale sign with me since I was a child that I am stressed. The idea of more work related pressure simply does not appeal. I need some down time and some me time even if just a day.

Hope you are all having a good start to your week.

6.5 today, almost back to normal! Finally getting over reaction to pneumonia jab- arm still hurts but heading off for a swim now, need to get back into this every day.

Glad you only have to have this jab once, reaction has been very unpleasant!

And you @debrasue are a sweetheart ;)

I’m at 6.5 today, slowly coming down. Sticking to strict low carb now (I even resisted fins and chips yesterday during a low moment!) - off for a morning swim shortly and gym later. Want to be firmly in the 5’s before my birthday next week ... 49 :arghh:

Life as an ‘in control’ diabetic is so much better :)
