Weekly weigh in - Fridays

Had a horrible blip after the first week. Initial weight 15 stone 3lbs. I'd had a 1lb weight loss first week, no change the following week and weighed myself the day after weigh in day. . 6lb weight increase! How does that happen!? Hate hormones. Now done to 15 stone but don't feel too motivated.
Yes ! Who invented hormones!!?? Bane of my life!! Dreading my next weigh in later today with my GP!! And they only tell me in kg!!!! They used to convert it for me..... Now I've got to go look at my own scales..... And mine...They always weigh me in lighter too!!

Haven't weighed myself since friday so not sure how my friday weigh-in will go.
People noticing my 3.5stone loss since xmas now. I've bought some new clothes to encourage my weight loss in the right direction.
Praying it doesn't just stop and I start adding again. I don't trust my body.
Just as easy as it is to lose it can gain.
Fingers crossed, very tightly.
If only people knew how hard it is for us? Many wouldn't believe it isn't due to over-eating.
Well we know better. I think my thyroid now working a bit better speaks volumes. I'd love to not have to take thyroxine ever again.
Maybe asking a bit too much, even from bariatric surgery?
I've decided if I continue losing I'd prefer my op after my son's stats next year. I need to be fully available.
Ooh! Thyroid issues too! Life just isn't fair! Take care and good luck!

I've weighed myself tonight incase too busy in the morning.
I wonderful surprise I've lost over my normal 1kg per week loss. Now 120.50kgs from 121.70kgs last week. And I have water tummy tonight.
I wonder if I'll weigh less in morning? Had leisurely walk in supermarket today with less pain but still on max. tramadol. This afternoon a painful sleep thou. Pressure on back and tingerling foot.
I'm now officially less than when I had burn out up until 2015. All insulin weight lost and some!
Maybe I will have lost a stone by november as dietician predicted. No carb cravings at all, not even for chocolate. Especially not white bread, nor pasta. Potato sparingly. Protein bread has really helped.
I saw a Hovis low carb loaf today, more carb per slice than morrison's own protein sliced. Looked very stodgy and thicker sliced.

I've had to go GF due to intollerances..... Old age ha!
Dairy free too nowadays!! Only eat fish now and again. Eat eggs but not meat .... A preference since 17 years which will be a 40year life choice in New Year!! Can't believe I'm that old!!!! But feel a lot older

Morning. Small loss of 0.2kg this week. Felt a bit disheartened until I took my body measurements and found that I've lost an inch from each of my waist, hips and chest in the past two weeks. Feeling much better for that!

Really wish I'd taken measurements at the outset - the ones I took two weeks ago were the first.
Ooh! Yes!! Didn't think to measure too! But I'm nearly back in size 14..... Down from 18 since diagnosed in March!
And with my mobility being a problem and not much exercise.... Its been change to low carb diet that's helped me! congratulations!

Not gaining is a great thing - I know that when I stop losing it will be really hard to maintain. I've NEVER managed that In my life previously.
Yes! Me too! Always fluctuated in my weight .... Either hormonal or water retention or lack of exercise!!
Good luck!

Morning. 77kgs today froma start of 101kgs in june. We are going to the good food show today which we booked before my dx. Will be looking at it all from a completely different place when compared to the last time I went.
And I so much agree with polgara, maintaining is so very difficult. ( loved those books, btw!)

No weight loss this week :( I blame my parents! Went to their's last weekend, my Dad who does all the cooking was very obliging with helping me keep my low carb eating going and my blood sugars stayed in the 5s mostly, however the portion sizes were bigger and this week I've been eating up the left over low carb lemon shortbread biscuits that I made to take with me. They may be low carb but they are far from low calorie! But they have provided a little bit of comfort eating, as my daughter left for the first time for Uni this week and I'm missing her dreadfully :sorry: Back on the straight and narrow this weekend :angelic:

OK, when I went to have my buncha DEXA scans done. I was 143.2 but I had a pair of jeans on, a tee shirt and a regular shirt. underwear and socks. So, Friday weight is less than that but unknown. But. Mr. BMI probably went up because I found out I have shrunk an inch.
Ooh! Mr BMI!! Just discovered that way of looking at weight!!
I did an online test.... Came in at 29 which for me was border line obese. Will check again later today!!

I had one sedate day and it's bloated me up. In alot of pain thou so had a restful day. None since, even thou still in pain. Having b12 and iron tested (yesterday). Pain puts me off walking. :(

I have to go for vitamins deficiency test later today! Really worried I may have caused my own poor health issues thru my diet choice.... I thought I chose healthy lifestyle!!

Hi friends,
I came on this thread a while ago, saying I was 177lbs and needed to be 170lbs. You were all very supportive.
However, I dropped out of watching my weight over summer, and I've actually put a fair bit of weight on- I was 183lbs when I weighed myself earlier this week. The people around me say I look better now, and that I was gaunt before; my wife tries to be kind by always getting me gin and spirits coz it keeps my bloods down if she wants me to have a meal out with her or try some fruit or treats she's brought etc. The fact is though, my health is just starting to move in the wrong direction. My bg readings are still pretty well-controlled, but I'm showing fat around my stomach- the exact 'belt' that presages metabolic syndrome; I'm also starting to get some of the neuropathy symptoms that I had in pre-diagnosis days when my liver was in a bad way (and I was 220lbs) . I would imagine alcohol has put my triglyceride readings through the roof, but it's still closely linked with my weight gain.
All in all, not very good.
I suppose the way out is clear enough: dial the diet back and deep-six the drink. I'd usually look for excuses as my first line of defence, but unfortunately, they aren't proving very effective anymore:oops:

I used to drink too much alcohol from 2003 to 2010. Then I had a wake up call with gallbladder removed cos of gallstones!!! Day before my 50th birthday of all times to drop alcohol!!! Then 2014 diagnosed fibromyalgia syndrome even though I'd upped my exercising!!! And in March 2017 type 2!!! Probably due to lack of mobility thru fibromyalgia..... So not a good place to be in April. My Hubby ... Married 2011 2nd marriages for us both.... Has been wonderful
I'm hoping for health improvements by the New Year 2018
Good luck with your life choices
