What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Good morning, all you lovely people. Blood sugars were 4.7 today.

Thanks so much @karen8967, @Ixarix and @Diabeticliberty for your kind birthday wishes. I had a wonderful evening yesterday. This was probably as close as I will ever get to a starred restaurant. The food was delicious and low-carb (they adjusted the menu for me) and the wine was great. Not surprisingly, the portions were minute -- so I was still hungry afterwards. We then went on to our favorite tapas place for some more food and wine -- alas, we didn't make it until midnight.

Hi Ziggy Belated birthday wishes to you you seem to have had a great time. K

6,8 this morning, my fault for having too much rice last night - my excuse: I am coming down with a cold.

Still feeling celebratory this morning. I did not let the cold put me off, completed a 10km walk and this mean that my total for the month so far and with two days to spare is 201km. In other words past the personal target I had set myself of 200km!

Weight is down as well to 80kg (bmi 23,6). Last time I weighed so little I was probably still at school!

Leaving you with wishes for an enjoyable remainder of the day (we are planning a trip to the mountains for lunch with friends, which I am very much looking forward to) and a photo of another of my collection of palms; this time the grey/blue fan palm Bismarkia Nobilis

Total winner!! How long has it taken you to build up to that much walking in a day?

Great photo as always.x

Hi Freema sorry to here you too have gout I've just started with it so I understand where your coming from.
May I take this opportunity to apologise for my outburst a few weeks ago, I'm that sort of nasty person usually. Things just got out of hand and I didn't cope with it well. K

Hi Freema my message should read I'm not that sort of nasty person!K

Morning all. I am 5.0 today. Trying to decide if a long walk around a garden will cancel out all the carbs in a national trust cream tea. Decisions, nothing but decisions.
Personally with BG levels in that range KOT...the once in a while treat won't do you too much damage...if you walk afterwards...will help limit any rise...now...before exercise I always have a little something...helps stop liver dump...the majority of the time it works...except of course when I ate a choux bun...with cream...a little chocolate ganache (it was covered in it)...followed by another...only the once...after that pedalled the equivalent from here to...Portugal to bring that spike down....to any tempted to have a choux bun...my advice is don't...the poster (me)...disclaims any responsibility for soliciting...encouraging...or suggesting the consumption of illicit carbs.

Illicit carbs are the tastiest.
