Type 2 Ramipril and swelling

Hi All, I wonder if anyone could help?

I was put on Ramipril about 3 months ago and the last month or so my feet,ankles and the last couple of days my lower legs have been swelling.

I wonder if anyone else had a similar problem?

I spoke to the doctors and they told me if I can bare it, keep taking them but it’s getting the point where I can’t get in my beautiful kitten heels and I’m pretty depressed about it.

I decided to abandon the pills for a few days and see how they react.

I’m a little anxious so any reassurance is welcome! Xx

I take Ramipril and have just had a look at the leaflet. Swollen ankles are listed under side effects. Here is the online version of the leaflet info.

I would get an appt ASAP to review this with your Dr. I’m surprised he asked you to persevere with them to be honest, reading this info.

I agree, and this was the diabetic nurse that told me that!
