Ive been back to docs for results of Urine test and doc was asking how ive been so told him that i was struggling he said to eat small but often and anything i want :/

he didnt mention about Urine test until i asked him at first he said normal until i told him what receptionist said last week then he looked again and said i am borderline issues with my kidneys and that i have to have a new test in 2 weeks and if that comes back same i will have to take meds for kidneys

i feel he doesnt care at all

HI. I am sorry if you are anxious about this situation and also that your relationship with your GP isn't proving useful (you don't trust him clearly). Can you get any further info on the kidney situation? You don't have to take his advice on diet but do your own research on any medications offered! I have had diabetes for 38 years now and do have some leakage of protein in my urine and take a medication that protects them from further damage which seems to be working so far. I think the only thing I can really do for myself though is to try and keep my blood glucose and insulin low.

Ask your GP for online access to your test results, as the law requires them to give you it.

Hi sorry your gp wasn’t more helpful and that you need a repeat test.
However you can still change things around and by managing your diabetes better will help to protect you from complications so keep going in the direction you are already.
Many of us do make major changes despite feeling our doctors practice isn’t supporting us - a lucky few do have great gps and dns but not all of us.
Ask for support here on the forum - the more you feel in control the better you’ll feel and this forum has lots of information to help you manage your diabetes.

the things is with doctor have said i have had diabetes since jan 2016 and only diagnosed on 16th march by chance a doc thought i knew when i went for another matter and mentioned diabetes so o feel ive been let down by them

the doc today just asked how ive been and i said that i dont understand it and that im waiting to hear from diabetic class to learn about it and also mentioned when i was feeling ill other weekend

he didnt even mention the urine test until i asked about it i am gunna contact the nurse and see what she say xx
