What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Mischief managed! Feeling very virtuous now and off to take the confused mutt out.
Hope your swimming lesson goes well. Should be good for your legs too.
@DJC3 Well done you, when's Quidditch practice? Swimming lessons for inadequate wrinkliies was good. I can do a length so Peaty is safe for a while. I also realise I need to return to doing things not writing about them.

Haha now I’m embarrassed by my low brow literary reference when you quote Keats!

Well done on the swimming front, it’s such good exercise, I love it. It’s just the palaver getting dried and dressed and drying hair etc afterwards that puts me off if I’m not feeling super enthusiastic.

You should go then try the hot chocolate idea afterwards- works well with brandy/calvados alcohol of choice :angelic: You're a scientist - you got an ology - so don't sweat the small stuff on literature.

i have to have a bit of of a snack at them numbers cumbs otherwise would hypo at work as im quite active of a morning more so than rest of day .probably no more than yourself .:)
Said it before and I'll say it again - those with type 1 have nothing but admiration from me. Type 2 seems to be a breeze in comparison. Move about a bit and eat yer greens! Hang tough @karen8967, @Cumberland and all type 1s we salute ya!

thanks ian but like ive said before we all have our battles with the dreaded D WORD wether it be type1 or type 2:);)

Reckon I have a new career ahead as a diabetic consultant if posts on here represent our current medical practitioners. I just need to come over all James Robertson Justice like and intone "just move about a bit and eat your greens":angelic:

Do you know I was thinking exactly that about the hot chocolate when I read your other post!
A small slug of brandy would turn it into something fabulous. I’m sold.

@DJC3 Mind boggles with vision of trembling arm as Hennesey XO meets its end.:angelic:
This is what my sons and friends disposed of at my wife's 60th! Well, I helped a little. Some were not a pretty sight next day and a few were glad the ditch was dry!:dead:

Edit: So far this is the most expensive I have been offered by my grandson's other granddad but I gather there may be better when the new baby comes!:woot:

They all look like the bees knees.
We only have one bottle of cognac, nearly full after 3 years as well.
It’s a Jean Doussoux XO 40 years, bottled in a large Chanel bottle. Comes from Champignolles if you want to look it up. Very small producer of great cognac and Pineau at a good price.

Ok, I have just returned from my first visit to the Diabetic Nurse :nurse:, 3 months from my diagnosis. This one was a different one to the first one I visited on diagnosis.

Well to say I am gobsmacked is an understatement.:woot:

We went through usual preamble, how was I coping with Metformin, my health over past 3 months etc.

I mentioned I was on this site, followed the LCHF diet, had a meter to test my BG levels, she just nodded and said ok, and the stated it was time to discuss results of latest blood test after weighing me:

Weight showed: 8.7kg loss since 13th February.
Cholesterol: 3.9
LDL: 2
HDL: 1.3
HbA1c: 45

RESULT!!!!:happy::happy::happy::happy:

Metformin SR reduced to 2 x 500mg a day Reduce to 1 if i want and and 0 if all goes well - all depends on my levels.

My DN stated, she was very pleased and is happy for me to test and continue on a LCHF diet, as this is obviously working for me, plus it is something she would recommend anyway - then said carry on and will see you in 6 months - well you could knock me down with a feather.

Thanks to each and every one of you, for the encouragement you have provided on the forums, even those I have not messaged, but took the sage advice offered to others, for without finding this little kingdom, and its repository of information and guru's, I doubt I would have had such success.

So a round of applause to you all along with pats on the back. Shame I could not offer cream cakes :angelic:
