Confused

Hi @somenctg - Welcome to the forum.

Can you explain more about your results, so was your HbA1c tested under your GP's instructions and have you discussed these with a GP ? This sounds normal but am interested to know why you are being tested and if you have symptoms that could of indicated there was an issue with your BG levels ? A fasting test in itself is not conclusive, however please note I am not a medical professional.

Hello and welcome to the forum,

What has your doctor said? Is he following the HbA1c up with a second one to confirm the first?

So, he just plans to check HbA1c again in 3 months - no medications and no other checks? What did the hospital say?

Which country are you living in? It is most unusual to diagnose someone with diabetes with an HbA1c of 5.5% and a borderline fasting glucose test. To begin with, if the fasting glucose test is borderline as yours is, you need 2 of them on different days. It is only if the fasting test is very high and you present with diabetic symptoms that a diagnosis is made with just this test, and even then is followed with an HbA1c.

Can you see a different doctor? That would be my choice.

Medication isn't normally prescribed with your results.

What sort of things are on your diet chart?
