Diabetics R Us

Good morning everyone.

I am almost back in the land of the living, duly installed in new house and awaiting delivery this morning of our new settees etc. We have been without for 9 days now. Sitting on dining chairs is no fun. Some rooms are looking good and are comfortable, the rest definitely are not, with boxes and bags piled up. The tortoise and goldfish are temporarily in a sort of lean-to bike store laughingly called a sun room. No-one has lived here for 2 years, so you can imagine what the garden is like. Totally overgrown with 4 foot high weeds taking over the whole garden including the drive, paths and patios. We had a few disasters, including the boiler. It is brand new but is a combi, which we haven't had previously, with unintelligible knobs and buttons. All we wanted was hot water. We got the hot water, but only with every blo*dy radiator on full blast - in 30 degree heat. So the boiler got switched off, leaving us with cold water for 24 hours until Mr. Blue found the instructions. Oh the joys of moving house, but still glad to be here.

Great to see you back, lass.

Somerset eh are you a cider drinker?
We used to have a big garden but too big for me to maintain so moved house in 2016 and that’s got a teeny weeny garden

Hope you take some pics to post on here when you come up to the lakes
My backyard come garden is about the size of an overgrown postage stamp. OK a slight exaggeration.

I'm putting my foot down, they are not using my spoons to get the tyres off my manual wheelchair!
Whyever not? It bends the handles into a nice ergonomic shape, which makes them so much easier to use with arthritic hands.

Evening all. We are back from France having had a wonderful holiday travelling around and meeting up with friends. Didn't buy a single baguette but did indulge in some croissants :). The weather was hot :D.

I haven't read the 300+ posts since I disappeared but hope you are all good.

Good afternoon Mr and Mrs Cumbs. How are you feeling today, any better?

Welcome back Daf ... you've been sorely missed...

Thanks, Des. I'm not back properly. I am physically and mentally exhausted with all this moving lark, box unpacking, sorting, more trips to the tip, staring at a dining room full of stuff I have no idea what to do with. My mind isn't working at all. But ... we are going on holiday on Saturday to forget about it all for a week. Going to Derbyshire, which is my mother's ancestral homeland and one of my most loved counties. We shall just lock up and go. Me, him, and Ness the dog.

That reminds me. While I was away there was a lot of talk on this thread about guinea pigs. How'd about this?

Not actual guinea pigs, but definite look-a-likes. My Ness and her siblings, aged 30 minutes. Ness is 4th from left.
