Sweet may have been a bit glam rock but they were actually a fairly heavy rock band, some brilliant tunes

Yes indeed

Their version of ‘Action’ is heavier than the one Def Leppard covered many years later and IMO Sweet version was way way superior

I was a clean cut vicar’s daughter in my teens. Nothing to see here, move along.

5.2, just had an avocado and bleached the black mound off my bedroom blackout blind. It’s currently drying in the garden following a good rinse, expect to hear much swearing on a few hours time when I attempt to reinstall it single handed...
A dash of honey in the tea might preserve your voice longer, if the swearing requires "extra time" !!

Dylan is a fabulous songwriter and I do like Neil Young in small doses but bloody hell they are both dreadful singers, especially Dylan.

Quite recently got into early Genesis, but YES, I want to like, but find it a a real struggle, apart from maybe half dozen or so songs
Gordon Lightfoot has had a lot of his songs sung by others, including Dylan.

I am also of a certain age, and punk was OK, basically just a fast shorter angry version of rock music. I was into heavy rock during late 70's and all of 80's. By now thought I would have mellowed somewhat, maybe a a bit of AOR, but no still love my hard rock, Purple, Sabbath, Budgie, UFO, Saxon etc. In fact going to see Saxon in October.

Old rockers dont die, just lose most of their hair and grow ever larger beer bellies
Old rockers never die, their chairs just do slower rhythms.

All my photos from way back are about the pictures taken by me. No self portraits (than heavens) - but let me show you
the walking the Budawangs, canoeing the Shoalhaven River etc etc. At least that says "I was here".
Beatles, Sherbet, Rolling Stones, Beach Boys, LRB- yeah, A different world down under !!

Fortunately I don't have any photos of me from the era, which has to be a good thing.

But like most in the mid 70's was into all the rock stuff, Yes is just one of the groups I did not get but Genesis, Selling England By The Pound is a fab album and was listening to that the other day.

Yep went through Punk, loved the energy and the Sex Pistols, Never Mind the *ollocks still gets played in the car.

But it was the New Romantics stuff that I really liked, Ultravox (with John Foxx), Japan to name a few and yep dressing in huge baggy suites with make up on :hilarious: leg warmers (remember them) :hilarious: and other strange things but loved those days.

Late 80' 90's and early 2000's most of that past me by like Rave, Acid House, Gansta Rap, Rap, Hip Hop and other things

However these days I will listen to many different musical styles as I think this week alone I have been listening to
Be Bop Delux
Alt-J
Howling Wolf
Sia
Chienese Man

Plus other stuff.

And stuff I had dismissed in the early years I am now finding a new appreciation of :)

On a side note, last night was good, did not set any alarms off for high or low, so an improvement, but was awake from around 4:00am waiting for an alarm to go off o_O:hilarious::rolleyes:

Going to see Def Leppard in Liverpool this December they are being supported by Cheap Trick

Where are you going to watch Saxon?

Cheap Trick? wow there is a group I like back in the day and have forgotten about, I'll be looking them up at work on Monday.

Good morning friends

Awoke to a 7.1
I am chuffed with this, it’s my lowest reading this week so I’m happy

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend

Good morning y'all :) and a bad night for me, sorry a self inflicted bad night, as I've dropped under 80kg I decided I best get a bit of weight back on, more food and insulin, so working on my current ratio I had 2u more and a larger portion, but it went pear shaped and I ended up at 18, had another 4u in 2 injections over the evening and woke at 13. so that needs rethinking, although I binned the 2/3rd used Humalog cart and the new one's seeing me drop a little faster from that disaster :p

Rob Halford of Judas Priest is still around as I think the group is, he also sometimes teams up with BabyMetal group.

Your going to love this if you want to get past the intro flick on to about 1.00 minute

Awesome

Liked out of sympathy

Constant battle we face isn’t it

I’m hoping that your numbers settle back down for you

Clean cut vicar’s daughter

They’re often the worst behaved lol

What have I listened to this week? I created a playlist on Spotify of folkie songs that I thought sounded reasonably interesting, to see which ones I might form a longer term relationship with. The National, Fleetwood Mac, I never really noticed them, but I am starting to appreciate their musicianship. Amon Duul II, the MaCoys Hang on Sloopy.

Fleetwood Mac in all their various line ups are an amazing band

I really wish I had seen them live
