Can someone tell me how to leave the forum and delete my account?
I am very dissatisfied by the T2 group, and it has caused me stress, confusion and mistrust. I feel that there is only one path being promoted, with people like me, with different views being made to feel bad. I also feel that no new person benefits from them as they are never told about differing opinions and options they have a right to consider.
Most of the posts are full of anecdotal stories of medical and nursing staff being incompetent and uncaring. While admittedly there are some, it doesn't describe the professions. Any newly diagnosed person has their thrust in their hcp undermined.

Moderators erase posts they don't like, using the rules excuse, but are oblivious when there is bullying in a thread. When a completely unknown to me person tried to stand in my defence, her post was deleted. Apparently she did not complain in the correct way.

My expectation is that this post will be deleted so please, how do I delete my account!

You need to to tag a moderator, they will take it from there.

Better to stay with the forum, study the rules carefully so that you can make your point while staying just within the rules. I have had some posts deleted and I know how annoying it is but it is better to stay so that a range of opinions can be heard otherwise it is not really a forum but a mutual appreciation society.

I Don, t normally comment on posts when people say they want to leave and to have their account deleted.
To be honest, the way I look at a forum for any illness etc, to me everyone has their own opinion on various things.
Yes I hold my hands up and have moaned about my surgery with very good reason.
If I ever get a responce that I Don, t like or I Don t agree with, iresd and just move on from it.
No doubt I have replied to someone's post that they don,t agree with.
The way I look at it, in the t2 section, it's adults as it I would say only affects adults but I could be wrong.
To me this forum has been a godsend to me
Like some other members, I have had the odd posting deleted and a mod has explained the reasons.
Final point, if you Don, t like being here or hate what's been posted, then just walk away, why post saying you are leaving.

Sani – There are a number of ways you can leave the forum. The first would be simply to stop posting and don’t log in any more. That leaves you the option to log in any time you choose, should you feel the need.

Secondly, you can request your account is suspended, which would require reactivation at a future point, but that can be done by emailing forum@diabetes, and the appropriate steps would be taken.

Thirdly, you can request your account be deleted, in which case you would only be able to return if you were to re-register at a future time.

As I observe the forum, day in, day out, I do see many anecdotal posts that individuals make of their own experiences. Their history cannot be re-written, any more than can mine or yours, just because it makes uncomfortable reading, or because there are similar veins across a number of members.

When folks find things that work for them, in terms of the management of their condition, they are often keen to share that experience. I certainly am, as are you. That our experiences and successes differ quite significantly in just part of the rich pattern of life.

Moderators do delete posts, but where it is necessary. Our community ethos and rules are published here: http://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/community-ethos-forum-rules.50278/ and all members are bound by them. Additionally, the Mod Team have protocols they must adhere to to ensure fair play and even handed judgements are made.

Where ANY member observes behaviour they consider to be bullying, or inappropriate in any other way, then they have a duty (yes, duty) to report it, by pressing the Report button, which is under every single post or Private Message entry on the forum. There is no excuse not to report such behaviour, and it could be considered that anyone not reporting such behaviour becomes party to the wrongdoing.

All reports received are investigated, and discussed within the Mod Team and/or escalated as required. DCUK take bullying very seriously indeed. Where required, action is taken, including removing members from the forum, permanently.

My usual practise is to advise members who are considering leaving take a little respite from the forum to reflect, but the choice is yours.

See your post is still there though not every ones is .

I think I'm going to have to leave this forum as I have been treated diabolically.

Can any body tell me how to do so please and I am not baiting or joking.

I sincerely hope you are joking John. Whoever has been treating you diabolically will have many of us to answer to, if you are not joking.

Please reconsider, the forum would be poorer place without you. Hugs.

John you would be a real loss to the forum. Tell me you're not really going please.

Sometimes I think that people who undermine others by doubting their experiences don't realise they are being a bully. Sometimes there are just the one or two bullies on a thread who insist they are right despite lots of true anecdotal evidence to the contrary. I have seen this a few times over the past five or so years here. Sometimes people can be blinkered. I think we should all take off those blinkers.

Phew! I was getting worried then.

I don't think there is any need for anyone to leave, but we all need to learn from each other.

John you are so admired here.
Am so glad you are staying and we all have at times said things, then you think again and think why ever did I say that.
