Morning
2wf0qrl.gif

Well this Libre is a bit pony and trap as Etch A Sketch said 2.3 on waking up :meh: however bloods 6.5

So several 'recalibaration' reset on xTrap and it is running now within 1 point of bloods.

Only upside to this is that the low alarm went off earlier 4:00am :banghead: had a Jelly Baby which may or may have not saved the day.

@kev-w your making me feel hungrey again now :chicken:

@Mel dCP You should tank up on gin before you go for bloods would make an interesting reading

:hilarious: but good luck hope it all works out.

I would, but I have to drive there...

Morning all, another night of seemingly steady control but yet again started with a 9 that needs turning upside down! Think I might plug in a sensor later. Question is which one, the Libre that I know I'll probably react to although I haven't worn one for a while so.......or the medtrum A6 that could fail at any time......?

Good morning all. 10.8 on waking, correction with breakfast and on a 7.1 now so happy days
Good idea @Knikki for @Mel dCP for the gin. May have to try that as giving blood is my worst nightmare (well apart from the dentist!). You would think we would get used to it BUT nope I hate both of them lol

8.9 at 5.30 so had a unit of novorapid but got really really busy at work.......
I've had 4 biscuits and 10 jelly babies and I'm still only 6.5!

There are a breed of people on this forum who claim exercise sends their levels up!
That's never happened to me ever ever!

Have a Freaky Friday

Tony

Morning all - all I can say is thank goodness it's Friday, been a long week..

Anyhoo started at 4.1 sitting at 5.6 now, can't wait till 5pm..

In regards to exercise a ride up the hill here at work is now my mantra in reducing a high BG reading.. running seems to keep me stable, swimming makes me plummet too, different strokes for different folks :)

Very Cordon Bleu !!
The bread was cut in half for visual effect :p normally just 2 dry slices, but I'm quite happy with the 'new' egg poaching cup :)

I'm bumbling about getting ready for work and caught a 4.1, and that's why I was bumbling about, I don't seem to have entered my bolus so no Libre gingerbread man, I guess it's going to be one of those adventurous days :)

f**kin nightmare last 24hrs

All good yesterday till about 4:30pm then it's 7.1 and slowly rising so I take 2u hoping it will balance things out, and I have leaving drinks to go to so don't want to be sky high.

So 5pm Jump on tube get to bar for drinks and scan it's 12.1 *** those 2u that usually would have fixed it clearly didn't work and NOW I can't take another correction dose, so I think f**k it whisky and ice it is!!!!

So a few whiskies later I rescan and it's still 11.1 and by now it's 8pm and we heading to a burger a joint, order a quarter pounder and a salad on the side no chips as levels are already elevated, having eaten that meal before I know that a pre bolus of 9u will cover it but I take 12u as I'm still sitting at a BGL of 12, anyway food arrived quicker then expected so the insulin had not kicked in properly so the 12 went to a 16 pretty quick because of the white bread bun, annoyed at myself I decided not to continue for more drinks after the burger, and rather then walk to the nearest tube station home I walked an extra mile and half which bought the levels crashing down to 3.5 by the time I got home. Had a 1 toast with jam which usually sorts things out BUT NO!!!! Woke up to a 7.1 an rising. Currently sitting at 2.2. *** probably due to liver clearing the whiskies!!!

I can't offer much advice on this, except, perhaps

As my teenager would say, “well then”. Blood test was easy, did the usual ball of cotton wool and a bit of tape over the hole while I walked to the car, and drove a couple of miles into town. Noticed the gearstick felt wet, looked down to find this... :depressed: Luckily I had a long sleeved jacket to chuck over the carnage while I went shopping. Clearly I was a bit too juicy today!

And when I got home I made ‘prawnslaw” - a 150g pack of king prawns mixed with a citrus mayo (Hellmanns, yuzu, pink salt, black pepper and some dried seaweed) and a 300g pack of beansprouts. Was soooooo nice.

Shower next to wash the blood off, and prep a new Libre site. Going to try on on my upper chest to give my arm a break. Then a 21st birthday party later...

So been yo-yoing between 4 and 6 so far today. Sounds good until you realise I'm trying to drive places so mainlining glucotabs as needed.
Popped into drs to try and finally sort out my online access - I can now book an appointment with the doc but not the nurse, order medication but not see any history or results. Receptionist said "results will just be numbers so don't mean anything to you" I asked to see practice manager but apparently she is on holiday for a fortnight.
Asked to book my flu vaccine as they sent me a letter about it, only to be told they have limited stock and can I try in a few weeks? :banghead::banghead:

I'd like to say 'unbelievable', but I fear this type of situation is all too common.

Running low to mid 4 for most of the day except this morning when it creeped up to just over 7.

However having just consumed a rather yummy strummy Belgium Chocholate Frostino with a blat of coffee in I expect things will start going north in the short while :) and yes it was worth it :angelic:
