oh @Diakat! any chance you can source a no/low(er) carb lunch instead? hope the hunger pangs aren't too veracious(!)
Had some cheese and a cuppa. So will get a rise but nothing frightening.

HMMM not a happy bunny.

Had a blood test done a couple of weeks ago and finally found out my HbA1c which is at 44 :arghh: (it is one up from March). The DSN was very happy, where as I am :meh: about it as I want to be lower.

So, got till mid December to try and get it below 40 or as close to 40 as I can get it.

Now I am a bit more use to Aspidistra and Dulac it should be achievable.

@Mel dCP How you feeling today? Bit more up from yesterday?

Other than the above, night time BSL crept over 10 but have manage to keep it lower during the day so not bad over all.

I felt the same about mine when I went from 39 to 48. I put it down to complacency at the end of my first year and going on holiday and feeling reassured that I wasn't going to die if I ate some bread and drank that beer.
Back to a certain level of carb sanity now and have another 6 months before the next Hb1ac............. we'll see
Lyon starts Wednesday and it's famed for??????????????????????

I must just have blanked the need to restock. But am cross because after last week's forgotten basal and today's needles I am at risk of getting careless. Must try harder.

Oddly, I forgot my Novopen at work the t'other day.. Thought it was in my bag with my lunch..
Normaly it's in my "trades men's" work trousers, along with my meter & hypo stuff?
I had to settle for a couple of meat ball things in a bag to stave off any pangs for the afternoon..

Unusual for me as I normally keep all my stuff together & grab it for the morning routine..
Lol, I did find a spare needle in on of my pockets during a "pat down." :banghead:

Did you invoke Mel's cat? Good to hear I'm not the only daft one.

My cat is currently stuffing his face...

@Knikki - thank you, yes, I’m feeling a little better. I’ve been reassured by people here and in my Type1Grit Facebook group that my eyeballs aren’t about to melt, but they’ll still have to render me unconscious if they want to stick pins in my eyeballs ;) But thanks to my idiot brain I instantly started seeing floaters and my eyes felt all “cling-filmy” as soon as I read the letter - the same as they feel when you go high, although I haven’t hit double figures for ages. Hey ho. :wacky:

We have matt grey paint and 5m of remote control LED strip lighting for the teenager’s pit, plus I got an array of king prawns, various kinds of smoked salmon, sausages, katsu curry and a Sri Lankan chicken soup for pennies in Lidl. We had to hit all three of our local branches to get the light strip, so I raided the reduced counter in every single one :cat:

Ah @Mel dCP so sorry to hear about your eye news. xx

@Knikki- 44 is still good so don’t be too hard on your self.

I have been logging on to read messages here and there... but in all honestly having a diabetes burnout. :(

@Diakat - I know it’s bad practice (and I’m the queen of that), but might it be an idea to not remove the old needle until you’re about to pop a new one on, so this doesn’t happen again? So yes, you’d be reusing it, but at least you could have your shot x

I dont pray or curse the sky's as to the whys to any deity of the ancient Egyptians variety..
But I did poke around the back of my van which I use as my breaktime solitude
With it's comfy seating & limo tint glass, I can recline & pass the time with a coffee & a bit of food
Or play hunt the pen, count to ten & work out the consiquences of letting go of a bolus for a lunch
My hunch was a high by hometime. So I toed the line staying relatively stable till I caught up at my dining table.

Unless it's one of those Humapen Savio's where the lid doesn't fit with a needle on, if so you could tell your surgery you want a Humapen Luxura HD, I'm only saying that as a fair while ago the surgery gave me 2 Savio's as replacements for the Luxurar I had at the time, no good for me as I need a tip in place, the surgery reckoned they weren't made anymore but they are, as in with the HD on the end,

My bloods have trended low today, the morning Libre line isn't good but this aft was better, some work and gym with no swim, I was forced to eat a whole scotch egg and a tub of Nandos houmous after work as I was dropping, well forced to's maybe a fib :) but any spare carbs were used in the gym...

Seems a few of us have been forgetful! My dose of forgetfulness was forgetting to bolus for lunch, only went up to ten fortunately. Yesterday I forgot to pick up my prescription and had to get by on two needles today.

I’m blaming having an 18 month old who’s been getting up at 4AM this week and a 1 week old who gets up every 2 hours!

I find this so comforting @Diakat, knowing it's not just me who does these things. Same with @helensaramay, I have been without that toothbrush on travel for work and it's hideous; lots of hotels (if you're staying in one) will have a cheap (or even complimentary) emergency option.

My day's been one of the best I've had for ages because I had an a1c test on Monday and my DNS rang me to tell me the result was 53. This is the best I've achieved for literally years, and puts me under the 58 required by Somerset CCG to get Libre on prescription. Just checked my online records and there it is in my repeat medication list ready to be ordered for free after a year. Call me slow to get there and I don't care; what is true is that it's made a huge difference as have the people on here. Seeing how so many of you take correction doses so often and how that allows you to achieve incredibly good control over a completely undomesticated lifelong condition spurred me to do the same, with growing confidence until I've reached this point. So, many thanks to all of you for the example you've set and what you've absolutely helped me to achieve. Now for some cake :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

Well done on your 53. That is my ultimate goal to be around low 50's. For 37 years I have been probably around 75 plus and for the first time ever my last reading was 59, so that broke a barrier for me

Like you say this forum has been invaluable and this thread in particular has been an inspiration to me. For almost 37 years I rigidly took 3 jags a day and would rarely think of taking correction dose. But with the knowledge you guys have given me I now feel confident to take correction doses as and when.

Well up until my hypo this time last week. just need to get my confidence back

So from me to all those who contribute on here, my sincere thanks. You are all stars

Was 7.something before leaving work, was 3.8 before dinner, and I certainly do have a real stinking cold now. Sick day rules can do one!

I seem to have enough bad habits as it is, good idea though as it would have been (more of) a pain if I'd been hyper to start with.
