Certain dogs are allowed in to the bowls club that I am a member of.

Children are to be kept under parental control, or they have to leave the premises.

Emotional support pigs are not...

I read once that the swirly pattern on carpets defuse the dirt collated till till the cleaning is started
The Tudor daze were a mess of throwing food stuff down where straw was thrown over ground covering the discarded waste
To effect, the flooring tapestry reflected the majesty of the historical ground level tragedy,
which is why foliage or its imitator by weft in spirt confuses the eye to ends, if one should lose a contact lense... ;)
 
Sigh...been there done that, I thought I had heard it all. I was hiv specialist nurse, for 30 years and I have listened / read years of b*llshit about - mostly - paranoia or if I was being less charitable, people sniffing a chance to make money. If the child was on the floor then there is imho, no defence. Floors by definition are grubby and insanitary places.

stale food fragments
accidental kicking

Perhaps the parents should get the child checked out for worms, ghiardia, toxoplasmosis and cuts and bruises as well, to name but a few.

I hear where you're comming from... Yep, immediately shared needles & unprotected barrier sex is a risk factor..

But "waiter, there's a mosqito in my soup!" Or under the table in this case... As long as "standards" are kept waist high.
Food hygiene. Table top, cutlery & crockery... No ones getting gonorrhoea... Maybe the odd dodgy stomach?

My hat is off to you. An unsung hero!

Hi, I have grown up children now, but have grandchildren. So in reply to your post, absolutely not, no you wouldn't want children running around, causing havoc and upsetting customer's, that is irresponsible. Taking toys in, colouring book or walking around with them whilst they answering their questions and engaging with them ( I see too many parents engrossed with their mobiles in their faces) that is a little bit of freedom to me, but obviously other's see differently.

In the past pubs had cleaners. Who were more thorough.

Unfortunately I feel hygiene has gone down in some people's priorities, especially if it's needing to be paid for.

Only the other day I was wondering why no cleaning done in the general public's eye.
I know hospitals and gp practices/health centres are cleaned.

Buses are infested with germs. I like to wear my gloves on the bus in the winter, with grips on.

Mr ickihun does our general cleaning and I've always been the scourer. Ha ha Unfortunately I cannot do heavy scrubbing now so even shower tiles don't sparkle as often. Our bathroom is heavily used.
When kids are off school our time goes on them instead of house duties so when they return to school it's catch up time. In pain.
Weakness does let me down so I get financial help to pay for a cleaner, if I need too.
We get all our carpets wet washed twice a year, even bedroom ones. Oven get professionally cleaned.

Maybe pub/restaurants need to up their cleaning routines.
Many would love a part-time job or even a full-time one in big places.

Maybe the minimum wage is being the scapegoat?

Come on Wetherspoons up your cleaning and jump on dirty customers or customers who neglect common decency for the safety of others, there are cameras in use. Manage your pub/restaurants better?

I was told over 10 years ago by my nurse that sharps bins were unnecessary and to use a milk carton... I accepted it in practice but if still irritates me.

If you need a sharps bin then the easiest and possibly safest easily accessed “bin” is an empty drink can. After use you can stand on it to stop contents emptying out. Worldwide availability!

We were having our Xmas day meal there and taxi there and back so we could have more family time. Youngest has problems in crowds so their alcoves are ideal. Xmas day is now on nibbles as due to daily complaints about roasts Mr Wetherspoons has stopped hot food on Xmas Day.
We were celebrating in our means.

And take our Xmas wrapping home alongside my needles and lancets.

Myself I wouldn't stand on a can knowing it has needles in it. :(
 
Think about the reality, put can on side, needles will always lie flat. Chance of a needle standing on its end is virtually nil. Thus when you crush the can by standing on its side, the needles are trapped. Not rocket science.
