Type 2 Symptoms of hypo

I know type 2 we can’t get hypos but I flaked out this afternoon. All I can describe is feeling like everything (arms and legs were incredibly heavy) struggling to have any energy and my arms felt tingly (really hard to explain), I had eaten well (porridge which is fine for me at 6.30’am and beefburgers at 11 ish).
I had loads of water at this point and felt slightly better so thought might be dehydration but only really felt better when I ate.
Had a lunch box out of big sausage, potatoes and salad.
Didn’t have testing kit on me as don’t have to test but given how lousy I felt was wondering if this could have been a hypo.
Before this I had gotten a blinding headache for which I took tablets. Just thought it was headache but now I’m wondering.
 
It is not possible to tell if you experienced a hypo without knowing your BG.
We all have slightly different high and low BG symptoms.
For example, when I have heavy legs, lack of energy and feel very hungry, it is a sign my BG is high; when my legs feel wobbly, I have nervous energy unable to focus on one thing and I don’t want to eat, it is a sign my BG is low. A headache could be the symptoms for either.

If your BG is slowly reducing, you may experience a false hypo as our bodies get used to levels and feel weird when we have higher or lower BG. With type 1 this may exhibit itself as lack of hypo awareness as our bodies get used to low levels.
 
I used to feel like that about 3 pm - in my late teens and twenties and again soon after I was diagnosed.
It is when my insulin resistance starts to fall, and back then I was still overproducing insulin.
 
You need to test before and after eating, particularly if you're eating high carbs such as potatoes.

T2'S can have hypos but it is not common.

To be honest I only had the potatoes because I’d felt so tough and needed something. Otherwise the plan was to go bread and spud less.

I decided to leave D at home today and enjoy myself, but still be lowish carb!! Typically the one day I needed to test.

My sugars have been great all week, finally feeling like the flu symptoms have eased. Although mood swings are off the scale still.

Did work this morning and was exhausted when I left home so maybe that influenced things.

Felt like I was finally breaking through so the plan was to relax a bit but not too much.

To be honest I had that lunch, I had a huge donut (3/4 of it), 2 cups of warm spiced apple drink (non alcoholic). Again I wouldn’t have but was nervous about energy levels. Had all this through afternoon and sugars now 6.9. I didn’t feel high sugary with all that and to be honest was expecting double figures even though after the 2 hours etc.

To be honest feel the best I have in a while lol!!

Usually if sugars go high I get incredibly sleepy and dopey but none of that even with all the bad stuff!!

I’ll keep an eye on things just in case!!

Maybe it was body telling me off for doing too much!

My friend did say he was really worried because I looked bad! A lovely shade of grey apparently.

During it I felt like I just needed to sit down and that I wasn’t going to make it to where we were going!!

That’s the thing I wasn’t hungry in the slightest. In fact I had the lunch despite feeling incredibly full. But figured something was up so good couldn’t do any harm. I was right and it helped.
I do find bring in the 5 area I still feel quite low. I’m just guessing my body doesn’t like being that low even though it’s perfectly normal.

Guess it’s a lesson that I have to take the dam testing kit with me all the time and not have days off!!

Sorry, not helpful, went 15 due to a curry last saturday with a naan bread, so today injected 8units of insulin to cover that but didnt have the naan bread and im currently enjoying a hypo, yes im type two who apparently cant get a hypo hehe

If taking the wrong dose of insulin makes you stupid, pretty much everyone who takes insulin is stupid because I think we’ve all done it.
But rather than admitting I’m stupid, I prefer the the pantomime response ... “Oh no you’re not.”

Anyone using blood glucose lowering drugs can have a hypo. You're on insulin, which makes you very likely to have hypos! And you are far from stupid. 8 units? I once injected 26 units of Novorapid thinking it was Tresiba. That was a fun few hours long hypo! :D
