Long story short my cooker had a repair under warranty before Xmas but in the process of fixing the grill one of the ring’s control knobs was damaged. Today we had a different guy back to put that right but he couldn’t because the new part he bought was damaged too! :banghead: Now he has had to disconnect the whole cooker it as it’s leaking gas! :wideyed: It’s lucky I’m still here and didn’t get blown up over Xmas!
Anyway, to save me from having to live off scrambled egg (in the microwave) and salad for the next week or so, can you lovely low carb lot post me some tried and tested low carb slow cooker or microwaved dinners please?

Cheese and olives @Rachox supermarkets have great reductions right now!

@Rachox sorry to hear about your cooker. I dont know why this couldnt happen in the summer, typical. Thank goodness it behaved over Christmas.
I dont have a slow cooker and dont use microwave much but I am sure other people will be in touch on those. If you do use camping gas be very careful as I has a kitchen fire a few months ago as a result of we think a faulty gas cylinder. Maybe a good time to buy a Foreman grill or slow cooker/IP on sales? Goodluck, stay safe.

Glad you survived your camping gas incident, but me camping?! Nooooo! :joyful:
I have a slow cooker but haven’t used it since going low carb, I just need some tried and tested recipes.

I’m with you on the camping lol. We had two consecutive Christmas days a few years back with no power and our village doesnt have piped gas so survived boiling the gammon on a camping stove. BBQ a batch of meat, with your coat and hat on obs?

I don't eat low carb ... or meat.
But one of my favourite meals is salmon en papiotte cooked in the microwave.
Wrap a fillet of salmon in grease proof paper with creme fraiche or pesto or some other saucy thing and some veg such as young spinach leaves and maybe a squeeze of lemon. Cook in microwave for about 3 minutes and serve. You can experiment with different flavours.
For example, for today's lunch, I smeared a little chipotle paste on my fillets before cooking.

How about something like https://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/gosystem-dynasty-compact-ii-stove-p409554?

Generally available cheaper in local stores.

I'm using one for frying stuff at the moment (not at home) because the ceramic hob is (IMHO) useless for most things.

Great for one pot dishes, even better when you can do veggies in the microwave whilst you cook the main dish over the burner.

@Rachox - Do you have a gas BBQ perchance? Ours also has a cooking ring, for sauces and the like, or in this house, stir fries.

Only the other day my OH asked how full the cylinder is, as he'd heard we're due a cold winter. Nice.

Fortunately, both of us are running away from it for a few months.

I have just realised I can’t cook my absolute favourite breakfast with out a hob but am going to see if I can get an electric version of this! Thanks for the idea!

Rachox, on a more serious note, how about something like this?: https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products...da-portable-induction-hob-white-art-40331630/

Lidl and Aldi also do them, but that will depend on where they are on their sales cycles.
No BBQ or nearby IKEA but just going to look on Amazon....
