Ah, another version of Mel’s Cat? Hmmmm, aliteration for finches/famous german plane, chaffinches, part of the folk name for robin, etc etc?

Robin the Redbreast?
I heard on the radio last year that the Victorian's were into naming their bireds. The only two names that remain in common parlance are Robin Redbreast and Jenny Wren.

The other wildlife I name are spiders - they are all called Spencer.
I think it dates back to my teenage years (not as old as the names "Robin" and "Jenny") when a friend had a particular unpleasant boyfriend called "Spencer".
My youngest daughter names all the house spiders, as it disarms them and makes them less scary to her.

Ok names for a variety of things:

Burt and Mrs B two blackbirds that have been in our garden for the past 2 or 3 years, oh their young are called Burtlets.
There is also a Blackbird out the front called Ernie.
Percy the name given to the Pheasants that some in the garden this time of year and at the moment is most spectacular one so he is Beautiful Percy.
Bob and Babs male and female collared Doves no idea which is which and their young are Bobbablets.
Goldfinches simply called Goldie.

Plus there are also other things around the house which have names, like the dehumidifier called George.
A blue bean bag dinosaur called Terry.
Two toy rats called Ratty and Pip.

Welcome to my world :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who names inanimate objects. In my last job, we had eight sound level meters, and we would take different ones out on different jobs, sometimes several at a time. When I suggested naming them all, it was scoffed at, but I brought in my Dymo machine (yes, a real old-school one) and named them all. Afterwards, most of my colleagues commented how much easier it was to remember which meter they'd used for which job...

And most of my cars have been named over the years, too.

Good morning all

I love it, it’s a glorious world!!!

Good evening.

So, any one know when the Libre 2 comes out?
Been reading some stuff about it published late last year & it seems to have the go ahead in Europe?
I was going to invest in a Miaomiao.. However not now the price of the L2 is tipped as remaining the same, but with all the features of a CGM bluing it to yer phone...?

As usual, the Abbott site is saying nowt..

Re-naming wildlife/objects. Many years ago we had elderly neighbours called Frank and Flo who had been married over 60 years. Two pigeons used to land every evening on the fence between our houses, preening and canoodling. So we called them Frank and Flo. All pigeon pairs are now named in remembrance of our lovely neighbours, long gone.

Rumours going around was April, but, that might be dependent on what happens with brexcrap rubbish.

While it has alarms, if you still can't calibrate it, which I don't think you can, then I personally wouldn't think it that great.

Hopefully the team behind xDrip and Spike can get it to work with their software as rumour is the data from Libre 2 is encrypted.

Thanks @Knikki , pretty much what I've gleaned from the blurb. I'm also wondering if the "L2" will become a straight replacement making the first gen obsolete & unobtainable with a possible profile shape change for the L2 due to the Bluetooth function, thus making it difficult for Miaomiao & Bluecon add on users??

You can understand my reluctance to sport out on a Miaomiao... :banghead:

Goodnight Karen, goodnight all, happy dreams.

We have two fish: the Goldfish called Barrister and the catfish called Law Suit.
Mrs Kitedoc did a Law degree, now she has makings of a court.

I hear the pattering of rain outside on the warm pavement. About time !!
Pump basal testing through the night after easing back the night basal rates. And still have slight lows !!
Running low on fingers and test strips so will economise and give the next set of altered night basal rates a chance to settle in.
Why would a low carb diet alter night basal rates? ? Weight loss?? Mrs Kitedoc's cooking?? The weather ?? (and too warm to wear socks, so their colour is not a factor !!
