Hi Ian - sorry for the delay getting back to you. I've been in Manchester - This reading I think came about as a result of me sitting on a train going there for most of the day.... not doing much and then having a steak supper with wine and a tot of whisky., sleeping in a strange bed , well an unfamiliar bed....... its not something I would have ever attempted to try in an effort to get better numbers... but ho hum ..... so not a conscious effort but something I have to take note . Sometimes doing nothing is a good thing, even though it may not feel great at the time....That looks like one of your best young sir. Congratulations (I am assuming you like that reading. If not commiserations)

Morning all, 5.9 for me today. Happy to be in the 5s now. Yesterday mid morning I managed a 4.7! Nice chicken roast later with just a small spud...

I know I have seen some very low numbers, of that and a bit lower, when I have been very busy, and very hungry, but to be honest, I just did something about the underlying cause, either had a drink or grabbed some food.
To be honest, for me, not being on any medication, if I feel fine, I just move along from the low numbers. If they're higher than my personal running range, then I might scowl, but then move along anyway.

Thank you, I had no hunger at all for a while, I know this journey is certainly a bit of a roller coasterYeah I recall being elated when I stared scoring a fasting ~5. It’s a good sign of improving insulin sensitivity. First time I saw a ~4 a couple of years ago it was a false hypo after a spike of ~13 and I thought I was dying
The morning hunger should subside as your body continues to burn off more and more glucose and become better adapted to using stored body fat. Keep going. Add a bit more dietary fat if it you makes you feel comfortable. It’s super energy dense and you don’t need much to top you up. Even a hearty spoon of coconut oil might do the trick![]()
