Ban on ad for LCHF diet for diabetics

I thought this was interesting! Simple As Fat is selling the LCHF concept but because the ad failed cite scientific evidence it got pulled (fair enough though they could have found quite a few studies) but was also pulled because it contradicted NHS advice.
Interesting to see a site trying to commercialise this (other than the shakes people) so wondered what you all thought?

Anyway here is a link to the website if anyone is interested! Daily Mail has balanced this article by providing a supportive comment from Aseem Malhotra (Real Food cardiologist) but done a hatchet job on the founder of the company...

I'm all for this, as long as the ASA also ban any other advert which does not state the scientific evidence behind it.

As an example there is an advert on the page that says "The 5 Online Dating Sites that actually work for free" where's the proof ???

Don't tell them about the Fast800 people, working with Dr Michael Mosley. Their advert says "This is why the Fast 800 recommends a lowish-carb, highish-fat, Mediterranean style of eating". Still not exactly low carb high fat, but almost. Is internet advertising different to other forms of media like TV, radio?

Not sure... I'm guessing the ASA investigates it all once they have received a complaint..

Edit to add it has led to a diverting afternoon on Twitter though...
 
A ridiculous ruling. Since when has Public Health England's (PHE) advice to avoid Sat Fat been based on good scientific evidence? Perhaps their adverts should also be banned. Being backed by food industry 'research' doesn't make it valid
 
People listen / watch adverts...

Hugs my remotes skip button, and advert blockers etc.
