When threads are removed is it normal procedure to inform all the participants? A thread called Eating Out seems to have disappeared and I would be interested to know why.

Generally we only inform the OP. In this case the removal may be temporary and this is dependent on a response from the OP.

there were two identical threads started, so mayby one got deleted?
 
Hi,

Repeated thread topics are deleted leaving one thread standing to avoid confusion if unanswered, threads with replies are merged by moderators in continuum of the general forum maintenance.

A member is also at liberty to self delete a thread at their own discretion, which also in turn would erase ensuing responses to the topic. ;)

Hope this clears the matter up. :)
