update on me xx

Nina, you will get many posters saying 'too many carbs, too high in carbs' but the fact is you have not yet been diagnosed. I can understand that whilst your glucose levels are high and without having the means to lower them in any other way, then eating fewer carbs is an answer of sorts. The problem is that in the first month or so, they like you to eat your normal diet as your response to that helps them to make a correct diagnosis. On top of this though, I get that you cannot simply go on with levels that high so your options are limited. My opinion is to get straight onto your Doctors, you need help. If you had actually been diagnosed as type 1 say and were then showing these numbers, they would be acting very quickly to get it sorted, what's the difference in your current circumstances? I do wish people wouldn't make it all about carbs on a post like this, first and foremost you NEED it sorted out right now. I just think sometimes a person not yet diagnosed can get a false sense of security when they are being advised about low carb diets, if it's type 1 that will make no difference whatsoever until you get insulin. x

Hi again Nina,
What are your blood sugars like today? You could be thirsty because they are high.
I’m so glad you posted I’ve been worried about you.

Try whisking up a few eggs and add water to thin it down a little, then cook disks of it in a small omelette pan - I use light olive oil and don't get it overly hot. This makes the wraps.
When you have cooked your bacon take a wrap, lay a rasher on it and roll it up, then take a nice crisp lettuce leaf and lay the rolled up wrap in it, add sauce or seasoning. Better than sandwiches, I think.
You can also use the egg wraps to make sort of noodles - try them with disks of baked cabbage, cut about inch thick slices of cabbage and roast them tender in a low to medium temperature oven with olive oil and black pepper, make the egg discs, pile them up and slice them into strips, cook bacon and slice that, place a slice of cabbage on a warm plate, drop the 'noodles' and bacon strips on top as high as you like.
Yes you need to get yourself diagnosed, but you might as well enjoy the time it might take.
