What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

For someone who has also reversed a lot of neuropathy in his feet, see @Jim Lahey post, from absolute agony so he says, to full recovery.
marvelous story of grit and pure determination.

Good morning. Thanks for the mention and kind words. Yeah I went from unbelievable, stabbing, searing, throbbing, burning pain to feeling like I now walk on air. For me the fix was a paleo-style ketogenic diet. Essentially paleo but with dairy. No sugar no grains - zero tolerance policy. I took no pharmaceuticals or supplements. I did however use a certain green, natural, herbal painkiller to help me sleep at night. I was simultaneously dealing with laser treatment and anti-VEGF injections for retinopathy and macular oedema. All-in-all it was quite tedious :hilarious:

Coincidental that I should be tagged into this thread this morning, since I just scored my lowest ever fasting glucose of 4.1mmol/L :nurse:

Edited to add: Thinking retrospectively, my body was sufficiently broken on diagnosis that I wonder if the miraculous turnaround is really to my own credit, or if I’m perhaps just a fortune hyper-responder to the Real Food diet :D

Morning All. 5.3 at 06.30 so good start even if earlier than usual.
@gennepher I really hope you have a better day than yesterday. I just dont know how people can be so unkind and just hope they leave it neat as they found it.
@Goacher55 I also like your doggie pic though I am more of the cat type. I love all living creatures except rats. I have been known to rescue mice from the cats and have been bitten for my efforts!
Hope you all have a good Wed. Middle of the week already!
Stay well. Stay safe.

I sent a text to the number I had, but I got no reply.
Outrageous gennepher...I wouldn't bother calling them or texting them it's time to put it in writing...write to the CEO of your water board/compensate you for the distress...they need to repair the damage to the drains obviously...repair & make good any damage to your property plants etc...it really should be in writing then we can all be clear about who said what to whom and you should be able to get some reassurance nothing like this will happen again...it may be too early for clichés but reading your post makes my blood boil.

Mroning...wow it's really pelting down here I think 'Plumpy' will have to wait for his walk until it's stops raining so most likely Friday then:)...had a reasonable sleep so ready to tackle the day but not until I've had another coffee & a meagre breakfast...woke to a 5.8.

6.1 this morning and the rain is hammering down. I'm off to the Malvern hills later today to meet up with an old work colleague and go for a ramble, this may well end up in a pub meal so I'm not holding out for a sensible number tomorrow :)

Morning all I have been missing it action lately, busy training and such, this mornings readings of doom not as good as the weather (its belting it down) was 9, I'm just getting over cellulitis of the face (didn't improve my looks unfortunately) so can't expect readings to be ok yet.

Take care in this horrible weather everyone.

It is a dark, damp, dismal grey morning here. I scored 5.8 but as I had been awake for about an hour by then but not got out of bed I will put it down to DP. I didn't sleep well last night but I am not sure why. One of hose things I guess.
@HarrisonK you have my admiration for getting through yesterday.
@Bubbsie I am with you on dog walking in the pouring rain - my 2 will be waiting too.
No cycling for me today far too wet.
Keep warm and dry

Firstly I'd have to drag him out in the rain Bildad...secondly the smell of damp Bulldog is not attractive...lastly he'd sulk all day and I'm not sure I could bear those reproachful looks this morning.

Good to see you back john...cellulitis is a nightmare I had a nasty bout a couple of years ago so you have my sympathy...coping with that I'd say a 9 is perfectly acceptable...relieved to hear you're on the mend

Happy Tuesday, everyone. 6.8 for me this morning. All is well on the KittenCat front so all is well with me.

@Debandez I enjoyed reading about the Battle of the Wardrobes. Sounds like something out of Narnia! So, they were fitted, but you were fit for the fray. :)
Ready to fight another day! :-)

I totally agree, it very nearly put me in hospital as it was tracking into my eye (Doctor was panicking, but I was too ill to care) so to be still be out and about and competing in the British Powerlifting Championships on Friday I'm over the moon! Mind I don't know how the dogs are going to cope with me being away for a couple of days (I've never been away from these ones) but I expect the cold shoulder for a bit, then full on Bully snogs!!
