And as a female ferretin too
A measure of iron stores beyond the typical hb levels. Low levels show iron deficiency even if it’s not reached anemic levels and can still have noticeable effects. Blood loss can deplete these stores and recent research has shown it can inhibit weight loss as well as other better known effects such as tiredness.
Excess weight is often an indication of too much insulin being produced, which could be in response to increasing insulin resistance - I think that the high carb foods and the half litre of milk with its lactose content could all be keeping your blood glucose higher than normal.
Watch out for no added sugar squash which is not always low carb if it is made from fruit.
Avoid anything low fat - it is not natural.
Try ditch the carb.com or dietdoctor.com for ideas to reinvigorate your love for cooking and food. Another idea is to google a meal you love and add “low carb”or “keto”. It’ll throw up alternatives and lots mor sites that offer great low carb meals to experiment with. Also the thread https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/what-have-you-eaten-today.75781/ has loads of ideas. It’s low carb squash and I think I’ve cut most of not all high carb foods already. I thought the oats were ok but I’ll cut them too and stop any potatoes at all. Most days I probably only have 200ml milk as I mix with water to make porridge.
I used to enjoy cooking and eating but not any more.
