Fascinating. I wonder if this technology could take us one step closer to smartwatch monitoring that’s been talked about for a few years.

That's looks interesting, it all boils down to accuracy and cost, making devices accessible to all whether NHS funded or otherwise is key,

Apple have filed patents now, which may not mean much, but here's hoping.
 
Ah - yes, Sugarbeat have their CE mark.

It's not very accurate though. To give you a comparison:

Overall MARD of Sugarbeat with a single calibration: 13.39%
Overall MARD of SugarBeat with two calibrations: 12.44%
Overall MARD of Dexcom G6 with zero Calibrations: 9%
Overall MARD of Libre with Zero calibrations: 11.4%

At this level of accuracy, it won't be indicated for dosing.

And of course you have to change it every day, which some may like and others won't. It uses a version of the technology that the ill-fated Glucowatch used.

No details of costs so far.
