What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning...driving in London was so frustrating yesterday...a journey that should have taken an Hour & a half took a little over three hours...the journey home took two hours...on the way I encountered a charming gent who had clearly had too much to drink at 09:15 am...he was very complimentary and called me a **** a ***** & a ***** all in the same breath I smiled as I thanked him for the compliments...on the way back there was the elderly gent who thought as soon as he indicated he was safe to pull into another lane. .a truly skilful driver he just managed to miss an Ocado delivery van...the side of my car & very large lorry...it's so good to get home...anti-coagulant clinic this morning...fingers crossed...woke to a 6.6

Woke up at 5:00 am at 4.3 mmol, too low for me, after stupidly skipping dinner last night.

I helped myself to one of the plums in our fridge.

At 7:30 am I was at a much more comfortable 5.5.

Last night was the graduation ball at my son's school. My son is too young to graduate yet of course but the ball is organised by the schools parents association and as a member of the committee of this I was on door duty, checking tickets, directing parents to their tables etc. I was supposed to have dinner there - a huge buffet was on offer but that meant waiting until after all the guests had been served. The que was huge and grew too tired waiting so I went back home at about ten. By that time everyone at home had had their dinner and nothing in the fridge appealed. I took my medication and decided to sleep as I did not feel particularly hungry anyway.

Not my best decision

Have a great day20190630_085411.jpeg

5.3 when I awoke at 6 am with another migraine. That is the 3rd day running now that I have either woken with one or had one during the day. I am off to the docs next week to see if there is anything else that can be done. I did hope low carb would help but it would seem not. No trigger as far as I can see. I rarely go more than a week without one and often have 5 in a row.

Woke up with desperate craving for kale soup. Very strange as I haven't made soup for over a year. Quick shower and rushed downstairs. No kale in fridge but found frozen broccoli and spinach in freezer - added homemade bone broth, salt and pepper and half an hour later some lovely soup.

Started feeling a bit weird so tested and fbs are 4.0. So it's the false hypos again. Had my lovely soup an omelette and cheese and some kefir and now feel ready for the dog walk.

Hope your doctor can sort the migraines as they are really horrible - especially as you are having so many. Do they last for several hours?

5.3 this morning snap @Bildad apart from the migraine I really hope you can get it sorted, they are so debilitating, and such a shame that lchf hasn’t stopped them in your case.
@Bubbsie I think you are so brave driving in London. I’ve lived in and around it most of my life but I’m way too much of a wuss to drive there.
@karen8967 have a wonderful holiday, my youngest daughter and I had a holiday in Benidorm a couple of years ago, visiting old family friends and you are so right there are some beautiful areas there - it’s not all like the tv show!
I am taking Dennis to his first day of school - ie puppy training session. We are booked on a 6 week course but can’t start for a couple of weeks so we’ve booked a couple of one to ones with the trainer my daughter recommended. I’m quite excited, think Dennis is too.

How horrible for you. I can’t imagine how debilitating that must be for you.
Has the hot weather had anything to do with it?

Just catching up after a few days.

Your post made me sad. Very sad. Especially the amputee in the wheelchair eating crisis, a sandwich and drinking diet coke probably has no idea how much sugar he has just consumed. Probably eats the same most days too. All those amputees in the same room. Really hits home. What a horrendous experience for you. On a lighter note you had great feedback re your eyes. You must have been so relieved.
Probably shouldn't continue with this at breakfast time but recently I was advising a client to be careful with the transitions between exercises as legs are very heavy - it turns out that the client knew full well how heavy legs are as they regularly deal with amputations. I won't go into the conversation that followed - but that conversation made me even more determined never to eat carbs again.

That’s a good idea. I bet Dennis will love to be the centre of attention! :)
6.7 both last night and this morning. Finally the numbers are going down. Stupid foot!

I'm an ex-Londoner DJC & learned to drive there so it's not quite so daunting for me...however I can understand the reluctance to drive there...when I win the lottery I am having a chauffeur...good luck little Dennis show them what a clever boy you are;)

Morning all from another sunny day here in the far North (county Durham) well an unwarranted 12.9 greeted me at 5am can't for the life of me work it out as am training harder than I have for a while and I normally suffer with hypo's during the night, am at a loss but that is the way of the diabetic. hugs for the migraines @Bildad I've never suffered with them but my wife does and they are horrible, hope you can get them sorted.

Take care everyone.

I was relieved about my eyes thank you.
But it made me physically sick watching what he was eating. Every mouthful he took was a step further to more amputation.

Up at 0600, lovely and quiet, clear sky, slight breeze, koffy brewing in the cafetiere awaiting it’s initial quarter plunge and lift to release the grounds from their holding pattern on top of the water and then drift to the bottom before the final plunge.

My wonder wheel of mirth and levity issued a jovial 5.4.

Just sorted out a wonderfully thick and tart batch of kefir. We were away Sunday night so I popped it into the fridge, removing it on our return at about 1400 yesterday and placing it on the kitchen counter. This morning - voila.
So, seeds in some fresh milk and back in the fridge until noon I think to find out if this is the way to go when the day is warm.

Anyhow, have a great day if you can.
