I am just coming out of a bout of Norovirus. The nurse I spoke to today suggested I should start off with some toast having not eaten for a few days. Is there anything more suitable for T2 / Prediabetics?

I would go for something light and plain, scrambled eggs or a piece of plain chicken maybe?

Ah, I'm guessing it's because of the feeling sick and horrible vomiting that goes with it! Hard to keep anything down which is why 'dry toast' is recommended because it isn't likely to come back up! It's hard to say what to eat instead, my daughter (non diabetic) started off with eggs and such and an hour later, up they came. Maybe a couple of lower carb crackers? I feel for you Listlad, it's a horrible virus. x

Thanks. Some good ideas. In the past I believed it appropriate to steer off oily or fatty stuff once eating at the end of a bout of a stomach upset.

My wife recommends bananas :D

But, chicken, yoghourt and scrambled egg sounds pretty good.

Yoghurt, put some of that beneficial bacteria back in your gut as well as enjoying a few berries with it perhaps?

Tell you what, I could eat a scabby horse right now. But need to lay off food for a bit longer.
We have an expression here that meets a similar need, it's a shame I cannot post as it would most likely offend someone or other with the puritan attitude here. :meh:

Just tucked in to some scrambled egg and low carb toast. Followed by Greek yoghourt and a few berries.
Thanks for the advice.

Good on ya, please tell me no one is missing their scabby horse. :)

I thought the link was on the nutritional benefits of eating a scabby horse. :D

Anyhow what I ate stayed down, thank goodness.
