What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Thanks for taking one for the team Krystyna. A very useful experiment, and what I have suspected for a while but never thought to replicate in the same way. How much chicken ( approx) do you think you ate on each occasion?
I had 1 chicken leg the other evening and had my best ever fbg.
Yes, I have suspected this for ages also. The first chicken breast was huge and really thick and must have easily been 180g. The second was definitely smaller and thinner and I think I had about 75g.

I enjoyed the 75g of chicken a lot more as the ratio of cheese and bacon to chicken was much larger than the previous day - so the meal was much tastier. It was also good to see the doggies enjoying their chicken breakfast the next morning.

Good morning all you international A list testers of fbg levels. A truly awful 6.2 for me today. I know not why but obviously my own fault. There have been literally hundreds of these Black Box moments over the 4.5 years I have tried this WOE. The official report usually concludes that a human idea implemented by a human in an environment replete with variables renders it impossible to identify the cause. User error is nearly always to blame as the theory is so Mary Poppins (PPIEW):angelic: Charles 1 had a far worse day in 1649 and many other folks will today, unfortunately. @trick60 diabetes.co.uk newsletter with Christmas menu ideas had a Yorkshire pudding recipe which I/Julie will try to adapt for toad in the hole - involves soya flour which we have never tried yet - soya flour bought though. https://www.lowcarbprogram.com/app/#/life/yorkshire-puddings-v

Good Morning and 5.3 for me today.

No idea what this dull day is going to offer, other than maybe more sorting corner of garden and harmonica playing, yep it arrived late yesterday evening.

Have fun with every second.

Very poignant. Lovely painting but I am sorry for the loss of the good track.
Do y'all have trail-riding clubs that go in periodically to clear tracks and trails?
We sure do, however this is a working forest and part of Cannock Chase where the trees are 40 years old and will soon be harvested.

Good evening/morning, @trick60 and everyone, including Toads in holes and Halls and pancakes, and of course bins!

The escape of the wheelies...to freedom!!!!!

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who.....what? I don't know I've forgotten already, old age is a problem, never mind.

A truly OK 6.5 this morning, for non diabetic folks any reading between 4 & 7 is fine according to the hospital diabetic consultant and for me with all my medications anything below 10 is OK, therefore I'm not going to beat myself up over a higher than hoped for fasting level.

Well folks a busy day is planned with an opportunity for chaos, mayhem and hilarity.
I hope your day is looking as good.

Can we talk about comfy chairs such as @HarryBeau and @OldButBold fall asleep in please? Are they recliners or armchairs with or without footstools? I tried one of each yesterday. Very comfy!
I find the sofa with a couple of cushions behind my back impossible to relax on without nodding off...then there is the comfy old winged arm chair anyone who sat in that would often close their eyes when they sat in it...of course that could have been me!...I have another favourite chair which also has soporific qualities...now the living room has been rearranged and the chairs have been dispatched to the corners of the room it's usually the sofa with a footstool

Morning… tired today want to stay in bed but too much to do...still experimenting with extra low carb and trying to eat just once/twice a day so far levels are higher...another couple of days then it's all change used to have better results when I ate more...woke to a 6.7

Had a bit of a lie-in this morning, must have been all the excitement yesterday :) Presenting a 5.8 this morning for the world to see, have a great day.

Mine is an old leather Lay-z-boy recliner like the one below. Worn in and very comfy ;)

Isnt Alexa just the best invention (apart from when she just doesnt listen!!).

This version of the sound of silence is my absolute favourite, going to ask Alexa to play me to sleep with it later.
I have heard that there is a male version of Alexa about to be launched; it ignores everything you say.

Morning All. 5.5 again which is ok for me. Hugs to @ianpspurs and @HarryBeau for your disappointment. I know only too well how that starts your day with a frown.
I like the look of that stuffed peppers recipe by Joe Wicks that @Debandez posted. Is he known to promote LC recipes? I can honestly say I have never liked anything made with batter, pancakes or Yorkies but I know Toad in the Hole is a very popular dish so hope @trick60 gets his LC version. @SaskiaKC those bins seemed to be moving faster than the traffic, scary if one of those hit you. My favourite seat is my sofa which is old and cat torn but oh so comfy and I can get my feet and legs up. Most afternoons you will find me there with a rug and two cats. Sorry rambling on a out nothing in particular..ignore me!
@gennepher thanks for sharing another fine painting. Have a great Thursday everyone. Stay well, stay safe.

Comfy Chairs, I would not be without my leather high backed armchair, I suppose Queen Ann design, all our chairs are high backed other than the sofas, great for neck support I'm not keen on recliners.

So here is snap of my fall asleep in chair, I included log stove as that adds to the comfort this time of year and of course my guitar and mandolin are always handy unless the humidity drops below 40 when they are put away, fortunately that is not often in this part of the world.

5.2 this morning. Yesterday had quite low BS all day - lurking around 4.0 which can trigger fasting BS the next morning in the 6s. Today it didn't but I don't have a clue why it didn't.
