Hi everyone,

Has anyone noticed a change in their BS levels after taking an allergy tablet?

I was 6.4 before breakfast and took my usual amount of insulin my that particular meal and my levels have shot up to 14.. the only difference is that I took an allergy tablet just before I ate.

Has this affected anyone else before? :)

If you read the information sheet which is packed into the drug package, you will see how much sugar or it may be covered in lactose as are many drugs.
If they cause those numbers you should ask for a different drug to help with your allergies.

What tablets are you taking? I take a double dose of cetirizine each morning with no effect on my levels.

I take Benadryl (blue Acrivastine) one a day (although I need 3 in a 24 hr period) and not generally noticed much of a ruse that couldn’t be out down to something else. Might be worth trying a different drug. Hate this time of year with allergies.
