What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

No time for a long paint today, have been catching up with friends, virtually or telephone, lots been going on during lockdown, feel better for it, even some old 1960s school friends who we keep in touch with once a year. Good day.

So continuing on the English local landscape I looked at my photos of The Roaches a Staffordshire Moorland abaout 30 minutes from home and did a very quick sketch book layout for my next piece in the series. A4 water colour 10 minutes will try and do the proper painting Monday, stronger light needed.

This painting sketch is really effective @Muddy Cyclist

MrSlim tells me he is well. Finding his feet in the new job.
He left early last Monday, so it will be a week tomorrow.
A lot of things are lost, or misplaced, we had such short notice there wasn't time to put everything away, although he did manage to sort out some jobs for me. The TO DO list grows ever longer, even though I work at reducing it. Sometimes one job completed creates another.
Have been cutting the hedge. It's a job I dislike and takes at least two days. Am working on the principle of the longer it's left the worse it will be to do. There is approx 25 metres left to cut still. It didn't seem right to carry on beyond lunch time, on a sunday, am just hoping the promised rain will hold off until i have finished it.
Am deliberately keeping busy, time to mope would not be useful to anyone.
Thanks for checking up on me.

ah, so your in the swing of it then.

i hope he's taking good care.

like the mentality, of tackle it now.
sensible.

and no worries,..my pleasure as you would and have done for me.

we of whatever hue, where ever we are are, are all in this together,
and much as friends family on the phone are a life line,

sometimes just the fact of coming on here,, helps pass a while ,
and also gives us the chance to perhaps say to those a bit more distant, what is on out minds,
our fears and worries, without causing concern or extra hardship to those we hold close and love dearly

Take care @SlimLizzy
enjoy the quiet, ..( well that's what my missus says when i ask what she did whenever i'm away ;) )

i forgot to do the fbg, and then ate then forgot to do the bg..:banghead:d

anyway,
by way of a small contribution to the thread
here is a tale from cuba and south africa, that warmed my heart.

Never been South africa, but we did go cuba once.

Lovely people, but it's not as open as many places so maybe we got a slightly distorted pic of the place, BUT
we did have a day with the fishermen, where we chatted about the world etc, and we moaned that there seemed no where to buy a snorkel and mask for steph (10yrs old)
and they offered use of their child's one..later in the week..which touched me as people had so little, or so it seemed

anyway.
cuba has always sent doctors around the world,
this time it's SA.
and while we can't compare countries apparently,
they both look pretty good.

and how do we define heroes, also made me think.

have a good evening all.

the suns gone way over the yardarm

Thank you for finding this solution it's brilliant, all my worries solved. I just hope I'm not too late to change my Amazon order for Chicken Wire to Aluminium Foil and some Goldfish Bowls.

Take care, dodge the rain drops.

5.8 this morning.

The To Do list is getting longer. Maybe I should do another list called 'To Do sometime in the distant future '. Have set the list out in a table with a column for progress made so far which I will update every day - except Sunday which will my day off.

Feeling that I have got my motivation back - which I seem to have lost in the last couple of weeks.

Morning...what a contrast of a day slightly grey & threatening to rain TBH we could do with some...appointments this morning I have two trying to rearrange one...this coffee is good no time to linger over it this morning...woke to a 6.8

6.Am. FBG 5.3.
Wish my body would allow a little more sleep. Don't need to be up yet. Still tired and lots to do today.
Grey skies here too, and misty, but hoping the rain holds off until the tomatoes are repotted, hedge is cut, and maybe gazebo gets a coat of paint on that panel. Forlorn hope? Possibly.
Also have alternative jobs list for indoors, when, if it does rain.

Good morning everyone from another day of potential in the dark and dangerous north

The wonder wheel of spiced and roasted cauliflower and a compromising X-ray photograph of a tomato came in at 5.7 this am

I can see that I am overdoing it with carbs. Must be the boredom of cooking all things carnivore, which takes little flair; bring to room temperature and then apply heat, well, maybe rub some seasoning on it first.

Have as wonderful a day as you can. Koffy calls at all times.

I have three inbox trays...

One is labelled ‘To do now - immediately’
2nd is labelled ‘To do later’
3rd one is labelled ‘To do someday’

The ‘To do someday’ got bigger and is now in a cardboard box....starting with the first one, which by now a couple of months later the items will probably get relegated to the other two boxes...possibly the last box...

This has been the case since January this year....

Today is my day for tacking my ‘To do’ boxes....

Time for a cuppa first....

On the subject of lists. I ran a theatre for 30 years with someone who wrote list after list of jobs to be done in the theatre. It was taken one step further in that the jobs had to be done in the order they were on the list. Just for the hell of it I would do random jobs out of order and tick them off, it always caused an amusing melt down, very funny at the time but looking back it was rather cruel of me. Mind you I still chuckle when I think of my friends reaction. :)

Edit.. oh yes I also did jobs that were not in the list, add them and tick them off as done, this would cause an equally outrageous melt down. :joyful:
