Metformin Side Effect??

Hi guys

I've seen plenty of discussion on this but I wanted to see if there was ANYONE out there, who had experienced high pitched ringing in their ears or ear, accompanied by a strange hangover type feeling in the brain?

GP said it could be me body getting used to the lower bsl's. I take 2 500mg a day and bsls are within range, anyone had this and know how long it might last for??

Tinnitus could be caused by Vitamin B12 deficiency... Which is a known side effect of metformin. Try some supplement, see whether that helps? Good luck!
 
How many tablets is that per day i take 4 x 500g and my blood sugars is not going down

Metformin doesn't do anything about high blood sugars caused by what you eat, it just tells your liver to not dump as much glucose (Dawn phenonenon). You'll need to change your diet to have it come down.
 
Hi all

I take 2 500mg a day, 1 at breakfast and 1 at dinner time and my bsls 2 hours after dinner were 5.6 tonight.

I do take vitamin b12 comolex from tesco the little ones with the green lid, 1 cod liver capsule and a chewable vit C and D tablet, i do exercise too and have lost weight but still the ringing is there, comes and goes.

Perhaps as the only thing I haven't done is strictly low carb ( doing about 100g a day ) I should do no more than 20g a day?

What do you think?

I will also update here weekly to inform of progress in case it helps anyone
