Newbie. Prediabetic officially as of yesterday. New blood back confirming.

I’ve ordered a Libre and understand you don’t need to calibrate it. Also want to use a MiaoMiao and I see there is a calibration. But my question is, if libre doesn’t need calibration why do I need to calibrate the MM?

Forgive my ignorance on this. Many thanks
Gerry

Whilst the Libre requires no calibration, it has been calibrated to 'Mr factory man' so if you're not the same as factory man it might not be very accurate, so the the apps you can use with the MiaoMiao allow you to calibrate it to you - meaning it can be far more accurate.

Edited to correct that its the apps that you use for calibration

Hi Gerry,

What app are you using to read the sensor using the bridge?

Thanks. Initially Tomato but now I’ve managed to use XDrip4iOS and interestingly there is no calibration option on that.

The Adroid version does. For me, I check calibrations once a day. Tends not to need any action every day.
Do you not get the option of calibrating after sensor start up with the IOS version of the app?
It's a neat feature as the stand alone sensor & Abbott app can be out (for me reads lower.) than the meter..

So I can manually calibrate the aTomato. The XDrip4iOS asks every 2-3 days.

What I’ve noticed is the Xrrop is beteen 1-1.5 mmol out of both the Libre sensor and the Tomato. I’m fact never sure which is right!
