Covid Vaccine, so soon?

Hello All, I hope I am finding you all well.

Apologies if this has been already posted but I couldn't find anything when looking.

I received an invitation for the Covid vaccine which is great but I thought they were only concentrating on groups 1-4 until March? I myself would be classed in group 6 (16-64 with underlying conditions), so I am very surprised by this as I am 49 years old so I hope the invitation it isn't an error. I've booked it and the appointment is this Sunday. Just wondered if anybody else has had an invitation who's also in the same category as me.

My wife who is in group three because of her disability had her jab this morning.
I'm not been contacted yet, despite me being five years older.
My GP said I should be some time in the coming week.
I believe that the majority of the top three

You are not unusual, you're just next on the list.

To be honest I would go for it and not worry. My sister-in-law and nephew are both volunteer vaccinators near Tavistock and at completely random times have been given a jab, even though they are not in groups 1-6. There were just spare doses at the end of the day. I have heard similar from other surgeries.
 
The groups are moving down a lot quicker I don’t know for fact of course but because so many people are not taking up the invitation to have there’s for one reason it another. Think 2 million have not come forward to have the vaccine in the over 70’s
 
I assume that this is a regional variation based on the volume of groups 1-5 and the efficiency with which those groups have been jabbed. Don't feel guilty in any case!
