Newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic here. Not sure if my fear of becoming hypoglycemic during sleep and not waking up is irrational or not. What’s a good blood glucose level to have before bed? Do you guys snack before bed to prevent this? What’s a good snack? Apologies in advance for all the questions, it’s just everyone here is very knowledgeable and welcoming!

If you're only on metformin, you shouldn't hypo in the night. It doesn't increase your insulin output, so there should be no danger of going too low. No need for snacks. ;) https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/blog-entry/the-nutritional-thingy.2330/ might ease your mind a bit and maybe answer some questions. And ask lots and lots of them on here; it's the quickest way to learn, and it's what we're here for!
