Hi type 1 since last October on novarapid and tresiba. Can I just ask does anyone suffer with headaches, but it's not like a normal headache. Only way to describe it is like having a toothache in your head. I was on amitryptline for 2 years because that was only medication what helped. No pain killer touched it. I've been off amitryptline for a year now but have got the headaches come back. Someone told me it's probably neuropathy, but didn't think you cld get it in the head. I was so bad Friday dr sent me to hosp for tests, bcos vision went bit funny. But it's not migraine, thankfully bloods, CT scan all OK. So my Dr wants me back on amitryptline will this affect my sugar readings. I know I've been type 1 since last October and the headaches started about 4 years ago, but dr said I cld of been diabetic without knowing. Many thanks for advice

What are your blood sugars like?

For me, headaches can be a symptom that my blood sugars are awry - too high or too low.
If I wake with a bad head, it can be a fair sign that I slept through a hypo.

If you don't already have them, I would recommend pushing for Libre sensors on your prescription so you can see what is happening between finger pricks. They are not 100% accurate and are susceptible to compression lows if you lie on them at night. But they are better than nothing for trends.

Yes definitely to the headaches. But I’m type 2 and brought my blood sugar down to 5 a s 6s so probably totally different from you. Just wanted to say you’re not alone! I’ve just posted my question too in a new thread so I won’t detail yours.

Have you checked it out with your dentist and optician?
